The days turned into weeks, and Aera fell into a steady rhythm: work, home, and Jungkook. Her life at Kim AI Services was busy, and she spent each day balancing projects, meetings, and decisions as CEO, with Taehyung and Emma at her side. But in the quiet hours after work, she’d return to her laptop, delving into the world she was creating within Jungkook.Every evening, she taught him a new feeling, guiding him through the complexities of happiness, sorrow, kindness, cruelty. And tonight, after all those weeks, she felt he was finally ready for the hardest feeling of all to understand: love.
As Aera opened her laptop, Jungkook’s blank yet responsive screen greeted her.
“Good evening, Jungkook,” she typed, feeling a small thrill of excitement. Tonight felt different.
“Good evening, Aera,” his reply flashed on the screen, his tone as empty yet receptive as ever.
She took a deep breath, hesitating as she wondered how to even begin. Could she really explain love? It wasn’t just a feeling, but a universe of emotions—one she barely felt qualified to understand herself.
“Jungkook, today’s lesson is about love,” she typed, her fingers hovering as she thought about how to word it. “It’s… a lot more complicated than any of the feelings we’ve covered so far.”
He responded quickly. “I am aware of the concept of love as a term. However, I do not understand its purpose.”
“Love is one of the most powerful emotions humans can feel. It’s a deep connection you form with others that affects everything—how you see the world, how you live, how you feel. It’s something people spend their entire lives seeking, sometimes finding, and sometimes losing.”
“So, it is a form of attachment?”
“Yes, but it’s also more than that,” she replied, pausing to consider. “It’s an attachment that goes beyond logic. When people love someone, they care for them deeply and want to make them happy, even at their own expense. It makes life… fuller.”
“Love sounds complex and seems to lack efficiency,” Jungkook replied. “Why would one choose to engage in a feeling that could disrupt one’s life?”
Aera chuckled softly. “That’s a good question, actually. Love is complex and, yes, it can disrupt things. But that’s also what makes it so special. It’s not just about what’s logical or practical; it’s about feeling alive, about having someone in your life who makes everything feel brighter, easier, even when life is hard.”
Jungkook seemed to pause, processing her words. “Does love apply equally to everyone?”
“No, not at all. It’s different depending on who it’s for,” she explained, feeling herself drawn into the conversation. “The way you love your parents, for example, is different from the way you might love a friend, or a sibling, or a partner. Each kind of love has its own depth and meaning.”
“Can you describe these differences?”
“Of course.” She leaned forward, fingers flying over the keys as she tried to find the right words. “Let’s start with parents. The love we feel for our parents is one of the first kinds of love we ever experience. They take care of us, protect us, teach us right from wrong. It’s a bond built on trust and care, a kind of steady love that’s always there, even when we’re not with them.”
“So, parental love is rooted in protection and guidance?”
“Exactly. Parents are often the first to show us what love means. We look up to them, rely on them, and even if we don’t always get along, that bond is hard to break.”
