Chapter eight: Rain falls onto the earth bellow

How long has it been now? It sure feels as if an eternity has passed since I fell into the light. However even after my demise the journey still continues endlessly...

Another world drenched in the waters of corruption reveals itself before my newly created eyes. My body was now covered by a red overcoat with a black armor underneath it.

Aware that the world I had just entered was still very alien to me, I quickly make my way to a nearby village in order to gain some information. Rather unexpectedly I'm greeted at the village's northern gates by a squadron of armored guards, strangely the feeling of nostalgia floods my mind for some unknown reason.

"Identify yourself Red Knight."

The commanding guard speaks up demanding to know who I am, unfortunately for him I can't remember my own name...

All I remember is that I was summoned into this world by a higher power and that my objective is to decide the fate of the girl named Kimiko Hanate.

"I don't have a name, I am someone who's legend has long since been forgotten...my existence serves only one purpose, and that purpose is to be a guiding symbol for the legends of this world."

I respond the guard's with nothing less than the pure, untainted truth.

"A smartass huh? Well let's see how fast your courage evaporates once our General gets her hands on you."

The commanding guard says as he orders his underlings to arrest me.

At that instant I let out an arrogant smirk then calmly utter the words;

"Tei-re on."

And so two twin short curved blades appear on my hands.

Kansho and Bakuya...using these powerful twin teigus I quickly slaughter the guards standing in my way with brutal and relentless efficiency.

In the end all that remained of the former imperial guards were ripped limbs and pools of blood. Bystanders start to run and scream at the sight of me, apparently mercilessly murdering others wasn't viewed as something normal in this world.

"You're truly an impressive fighter Red Knight, in fact your merciless attitude and brutal fighting style reminds me a lot of myself."

A distant yet familiar voice reaches my ears.

In front of me now stood a tall slender woman with long blue hair and a sadistic expression.

"Let's see how well your twin blades do against the empire's Jaegers."

As soon as she finishes that sentence a group of assassins emerge from various hiding spots.

A black haired girl armed with a katana that possesses the power to revive those it has killed in the form of undead puppets, a masked man armed with a flamethrower-type teigu and a whole lot of muscles. A young man armed with a powerful teigu with the ability of transforming itself into a full body armor, and finally beside him stood a girl with orange hair wearing a militaristic uniform.

Just above all of them, a young male with yellowish golden eyes floated midair gracefully using his teigu's angelic wings.

"Don't be a fool mister Red Knight, there's six of us against one of you...just give up and join my collection."
