Sonic's(Eggman-Free) Birthday Party

Tails was confused.

Sadly, that was a common feeling these days.

He had so many questions.

Like this one: What happened to the asteroid?

In less than an hour, the rock that had caused panic among the city's residents had simply disappeared. Even stranger, no debris was found from the asteroid. So there was no way of telling why it had vanished.

Tails would naturally assume that Eggman had played a part in the disappearance. But for the past year, Dr. Robotnik had been untraceable, or simply put...

Missing.

No matter how hard Tails tried, Eggman and his army were off-grid, Or, he didn't want to be too optimistic, dead.

So whenever Tails had free time(which was often) he would slave away in his lab. Looking for answers to the many mysteries he still had to uncover.

Currently, Tails was once again in his lab. Writing down the day's progress in one of his journals.

I should be done at least an hour before Sonic's event, or else I'll end up stressing throughout the entire party.

He sighs.

Even though we have grown distant, I still want to be there: physically and mentally.

So with his last sentence written. Tails closes his notebook, cleans his lab, and locks up all the equipment. He walks towards the front door but stops before arriving at the exit. Turns around, and takes one last look at his projects. He notices the clock in the corner near his equipment.

There's still a couple of hours left until Sonic's party.

"Maybe a little more research won't hurt." Tails starts fidgeting with his keys and glancing at his messy computer. Subconsciously, Tails starts walking towards it.

Suddenly, his clock goes off. Marking the new hour.

Before he can stop himself, Tails runs outside, locks the door, and puts his keys in the lockbox for the lab.

"Get a grip, Tails", he whispers to himself.

Tails was confused.
