"Aubrey? Are you awake?"
Stacey looked up from the iPad to find Ace looking at her with squinted eyes. Stacey stood up from the chair to approach Ace and see what she had called her for. It was already 3 in the morning, and Jhoanna was already sleeping on the couch.
"Bakit? May problema ba?" Kunot-noong tanong ni Stacey.
Ace shook her head, face crumpled. "No. Nauuhaw lang ako," sagot nito.
"Bilhan kita—"
"Actually, Aub," Ace cut her off before Stacey could even finish. "Let's go together. I need to breathe."
Stacey didn't know how to respond. Kaya ang ending, pinayagan niyang lumabas si Ace sa room nito—ultimately breaking the only request Gavin asked her to keep.
Stacey didn't want anything bad to happen to her kaya hindi siya nakikinig.
"Where's the canteen ba?" Ace asked in frustration after they walked the whole floor just to look for the supposed canteen.
"Nasa baba. May vending machine naman d'yan," Stacey said, leading her inside one of the rooms.
This room doesn't have a bed or anything. Instead, it has chairs na pwedeng paghintayan ng mga nagbabantay ng pasyente.
"Maghintay ka rito. Ako nang bibili," Stacey instructed, pointing at one of the chairs. Ace didn't want to push any buttons, so she followed obediently.
She sat at one of the cold metal chairs, her eyes never leaving Stacey's moving figure. The older girl approached a vending machine, examining whatever food she would like to get.
Ace smiled at herself when she noticed how Stacey blinked rapidly as if she was trying her best to stay awake. She punched some numbers on the vending machine, and a few minutes later, some snacks fell successfully.
"I made sure na walang seafoods 'tong mga 'to," Stacey said as she approached Ace, handing her some chips and some bottled water. "Balik na tayo?"
"I was planning on taking you to the roof." "That's if you're not sleepy yet. It's totally fine if—"
"Daming ebas. Tara na." Stacey cut her off, holding her by the wrist as she smoothly pulled her out of the room.
Ace smirked when she noticed a faint blush on Stacey's face. She couldn't help but feel some kind of rush—a rush that only she felt with Stacey.
"Hindi ka ba pagod?" Ace asked, breaking the silence as they walked towards the staircase. "Alam kong galing ka pa sa work mo bago ka pumunta rito. Hindi ka rin daw natulog kanina, sabi ni Jho."
"Wala naman kaming masyadong ginawa sa work kanina, so hindi ako napagod. At sanay na akong magpuyat kaya 'wag kang mag-alala sa'kin," Stacey assured. She made sure that she matched her pace with Ace.
Ace hummed, "Ano bang work mo? Gusto kong mag-apply d'yan, parang ang chill eh." She snickered.
Stacey shook her head, knowing damn well that Ace would definitely take her words back if she knew what kind of work she did. Being in showbiz definitely wouldn't be on her list—based on what she told Stacey before.
After a minute, the girls finally arrived at the rooftop. Ace took a deep breath, her heart soaring in joy at the cold air hitting her face. She walked them towards the edge of the building.
