(A/N): I just wanna say, this fanfic isn't just Harry and Niall, I just haven't found a way to introduce the rest of them that aren't in this chapter, I just wanted to clear that up. -Katie

-------------------------------------------------

When I wake up, I realize we're not in the van anymore, and this, in fact, is not a dream.

"Oh, look, she's finally awake," a voice I've never heard before says. I look around and see a new face, as well. He has blue eyes and his brown hair is a little messy, almost looking intentional. He wears a striped shirt and colored jeans. I'll call him Sailor until I find out who he is.

"Looks like it to me," says Harry. He looks at me with his cold, yet bright, green eyes. But that's when I look at Niall. He looks at me almost as if he wishes they didn't have to do this to me, almost like he cares for a second, before turning and telling Sailor all that just happened.

NIALL'S POV

"Well, there was nothing at the house," I say, "so where do you want us search now?" I ask this only because I never received a list of places, unlike Harry, who is currently staring the girl, who seems so familiar to my memory, down. I asked the question to Louis, the leader of this whole operation, or should I say co-leader.

"Hmm. And you're sure?" he says.

"Yes. We searched high and low, left and right, in and out, and trashed the place, but didn't find anything," I confirm. I feel terrible, putting this beautiful girl through something she doesn't even understand. But the more I look at her, the more familiar she seems. As if I actually knew her before now. But I can't think about that now. I have to focus on the job, no distractions, not even this beautiful ghost from my past.

I just wish I could remember why I cared about her so much.

HAYLEY'S POV

I just sit, waiting for whatever comes next. Sailor and Niall finish talking, and Sailor says, rather loudly, as if his goal was to scare me, "...and take her with you!" Take who where? Then I somehow know, without thought, me, to wherever they'll be searching next.

"Come on, you, we're going to his flat."

Flat? Oh, apartment. I forgot that people in the UK call then flats. Maybe I should have payed more attention in Human Geography. And maybe if I had been paying more attention in all my classes, I could have thought of something to say or do other than just follow Harry and Niall back to the van. This time, Harry takes the wheel, Niall sitting next to me. That's when I remember where I knew him before. We were in some of the same classes in grade school, back at Malcolm elementary. I look at him, and now I remember playing with him on the playground at recess.

"So," I say to him, "So, what did you do, go from my friend to my kidnapper? I would've never thought it from you, of all people, AGENT HORAN."

"AGENT HORAN?!?!?!" Harry started cracking up, and he couldn't stop laughing.

"So you remember, too, then," says Niall, giving Harry the finger.

"I knew I recognized you from somewhere, I just couldn't place it," he says.

"Of course I remember, you were one of my best friends. I never thought you would do this, I remember how you would always apologize for even the little things. Apparently a lot has changed since then."

"A lot happens to a person in four years, Hayley," he says quietly. He looks at me with his blue eyes full of sorry, full of hurt. He genuinely looks sorry, like he doesn't want me to be going through this, like he wishes it were him instead.

But I know better than to believe any of that.
