Day light

I stared at the floor, and nothing else. I was standing in the middle of the room adorned with the stanch of my, and enemies blood. A ceramic piece was lodged in the side of my neck and yet every breath I took never ended.

I bent down slowly, my eyes unmoving and  took another piece "just to make sure..."

I placed it above were my heart was  located and held the blade strongly.

"to make sure I'm not going crazy. well, atleast to myself"  In a quick motion I stabbed and finally felt something, and for once it was painful. It was black for a single moment and everything seemed to stop.

Untill my heart started beating again and I felt the way I was before.

"So I can kill people in the most gruesome and cruelest way...but I cant kill myself huh?" The words were as low as a whisper only meant to be heard by me.

In that moment, I did the only thing I could think of that made sense. I laughed, tears of agony and memories painted my face, I hadn't noticed until I tried to wipe my eyes. But I only worsened it with the blood on my hands.

'So that's why they didn't try to kill me then, my first accident that got me denied of using my arts?!'

The louder I laughed the more my tears burned. In a split second.

I saw....I saw Hana on the floor, limbless.🤩🙌👍😁🙌❤️🎧💯🎧🤞💪 Everybodies fate 🎧❤️🤞7🎧

And right then and there I laughed as if I had heard the funniest joke ever. I held the blade in chest and fell to the wooden floor. Allowing more tears to fall. The peice which was in jabbed in my neck fell to the ground by the force I placed on my knees when I landed aswell.

.....

I don't know how long I had been against the cold wall.  I glanced at the girl who moved ever so slightly "I was only waiting for this thing to wake up and explain"

At the slighted sign that she had had opened her eyes and the hint of confusion showed I stood up, as dead as I may feel, I stood up and walked  towards her.

I still counts comprehend what was going on with my body since I still had on these bracelets. So I slowly bent down and grabbed another piece.

I walked towards her and got to her eye lever menacingly calm, and asked her looking her straight in the eye. "Why can't I die?" My voice was raspy and I hated it, but that was the least of my worries right now.

"W-what?" Maybe the question caught her of guard so I raised the blade in the air, she flinched while I plainly looked at her. Berely blinking when I stabbed my neck once more.

With a serious and dreadful tone I refraced my question "I can't kill myself...why is that". To  demonstrate I removed the blade and tilted my head, showing her the self healing flesh that prevented me from bleeding out.

A moment of silence filled the both of us as she gaulped, taking a deep breath and avoiding eye contact.

"Uhm..you have all arts 10ge-" I punched the wall behind her with a loud thump "Dont call me that" I said sternly the more I faced her.

With a sincere expression she looked at me "Ethereal, you have all arts, therefore most things won't be able to kill you. Water and air will slow the impact of things the faster they head towards you. Your natural temperature is tempered by the flame art and since yours is so deadly, any poison will be destroyed unless done with a professional flame-smith. Nature will heal you from the inside out, your primal art will give you Instincts like no other to prevent danger. Ehtereal Omoshiro.." it looked as if she had more to say but she stopped herself from going any further.

Slightly irritated I raised a single hand to show her the black bracelet that stopped me from using my arts. "Then explain this!" I was upset, confused. So so confused and now even death couldn't save me.

She studied the bracelet before looking back at me expectingly, huffing a heavy breath I yelled "YOU SAID THA...you said that I can use all my arts-then what is this! WHY CANT I USE MY ARTS NOW!?"

"it's an art canceller, or art cancellers" she motioned towards her hand to show that she had the same ones "art cancellers block the mental massages to activate your art. Your the 10th generation ethereal, whether or not you have the bracelet you cannot die, your healing because the art of nature in your blood is too power to not have an effect, it's natural. And also, the bracelet allows you to gain only 17 percent  of your stamina when you're close to the brink of death.."

Everything she had told me made sense but how could I believe her.

Oh yeah.

Pulling the blade closer to her own throat I let her face me by pulling her hair, which I now realized were two shades brighter than her past color. "Tell me, who did you say you were again?" I dug my weapon deeper into her flesh. 'i can't risk hurting her, not yet atleast'  "And tell me why you look so similar to Nanami" my voice was low and calculated but my tone was hostile and blunt.

She sighed and looked away and I let her, "m..my name is lyr-" I tightened my grip on her hair as a warning to not lie then stared at her waiting. "My name is lyra, and my story isn't exactly the prettiest."  "No, no,no, no. I have time."  I persuaded, as hard as it may be for her. I needed to know more about her, before I kill the wrong person.

Selfish.

I watched as her eyes dolled and became demp as she relived her memories for me "nine hundred years ago I was the only child to my parents, to whom were killed shortly after my birth. There, I was taken forcefully under the wing of master Kenji." I narrowed my eyes the more she spoke  "He was ignorant of my art of reality, nature and air but never neglectful, he fed me, gave me shelter and the basic needs but it was never the full demands to what you may call a loving home. The main purpose I was special was because I could heal at an incredibly fast pace, a bullet could be shot at me and I'd be healed in less than 2 minutes tops. I was never allowed to leave.  Until one day, around the age of...." She faced the ceiling contemplating "21, I lost my temper and control of my power, I tried to prove to him that I was more than a test subject since they would inject me with various poisons, weapons and tort...yeah" she cleared her throat, "so...uhm, when I lost my temper I-I lost control mainly of the reality art. I said 'you never treated me normally even as a child" fragments of tears Weald up and her eyes became glossy "uhm, I shouted 'i can make illusions of people!, make mirages into real objects but you never paid any attention.' I was historical at the moment and I was losing my sanity but I couldn't allow myself to stop. So I focused on all of my power that day and...boom. a human being, as thick as flesh and as stubborn as bone was made....she was the same height, same tone, same hair color, same eyes same smile!, but different hearts."

She looked directly at me and took a long sigh,  her eyes glossy and begging for  an empathetic response "ehtereal, Nanami is me. And I am Nanami. She was Born from  rage, anger, sadness and  despair.  Crested, because I couldn't control the gifts that I had." She looked down even though the sharp piece I held to her thoaht drow out some blood, "She made it into the master's good books and instantly became his second in command since, he was still young, I'm sorry."
