"Come what may" was actually my motto when I entered my dream college school's gate.

I was competitive back in SHS days, but I realized being competitive makes me stressed, especially now that I'm in college. So, instead of competing, why not enjoy?

"Hi, I'm Vincent. Call me Vince na lang para hindi masyadong lalaki pakinggan", pag papakilala sa akin ni Vince. He's adorable though.

"I'm Kassandra Kaye. Call me Kaye, I hate my first name", pag papakilala ko naman kay Vince.

"Kassandra is a nice name", he said smiling. "Kaye's way better", sagot ko naman sa kanya.

We stopped talking when a woman in her late 20s went inside the classroom.

"Educators, huh. Are you really sure that this is the path you want? You can still back out," she said, and we all laughed.

"Okay, I'm Deanna. Not Deanna ikaw ang mahal, not Deanna ikaw ang iibigin kundi, Deanna Moral," she said, which makes us burst into laughter. Oh God.

"I'll be your instructor for your subject, Philippine History," she then added.

"During my classes, expect me to be kind of challenging. We will always have an interactive discussion, which makes our meeting interesting. If you don't know what it is, then open your SAS 1, read and understand the content notes, and prepare. I'll be back," said the instructor.

College na nga talaga ako. Ibang iba yong orientation nong SHS at ngayon sa college eh. Nakakatawang isipin na nuon, pinapasayaw kami after naming magpakilala, ngayon? Ewan ko nalang.

After 20 minutes, Ma'am Deanna came back. She then grabbed the attendance sheet and started looking for names. Why do I have this feeling like I'm nervous?

"Okay, let's have, Ms. Rose," Sabi Nito. Agad namang tumayo yong tinawag niya.

"Okay, Ms. Rose, first question, do you think historians are objective?" Tanong ni Ma'am na nagpatahimik sa aming lahat. At ng walang masagot si Rose, Ma'am Deanna started counting, and after 5 seconds, she let Rose sit.

"Who will volunteer?".

Nobody dares to make even a tiny sound. So, I raise my hand. She then smiled and nodded, signaling me to start answering her question. I didn't waste my time and answered her.

"Historians, while striving for objectivity, are inevitably influenced by personal biases, cultural context, and the limitations of historical sources. While they employ rigorous methods like critical source analysis and peer review to minimize bias, complete objectivity remains elusive.

For instance, a historian's interpretation of a historical event can be shaped by their own cultural background and worldview. A historian from a Western culture may interpret a historical event differently than a historian from an Eastern culture. Additionally, historical sources themselves are often biased, as they are created by individuals with their own agendas.

Furthermore, the historical context in which a historian writes can influence their interpretation of the past. For example, a historian writing in the 21st century may have a different understanding of gender roles than a historian writing in the 19th century.

Therefore, while historians aim for objectivity, their interpretations are ultimately shaped by a complex interplay of factors. By acknowledging these limitations and employing rigorous research methods, historians can produce accurate and insightful accounts of the past."

"Do you think we can change history?", she asked again.

"Yes, if we provide enough and strong evidences", I answered her. "Explain further", aniya.
