I walk of the train and stretch my arms bathing in the afternoon sun. The whole trip I was on my laptop looking at apartments and I found the perfect place, a two bedroom apartment on the nineth floor, comes furnished so I don't have to worry about that, it's close to Chicago University,a target is also close by and a small diner is around the corner were I can try and get a job.
I rang the realistate lady and we have a meeting this afternoon so I have enough time to get there.
I walk out of the busy train station my trunk rolling behind me, I get a taxi and head towards the apartment, In 20 minutes we pull up at the apartment building, the taxi driver helps me get my trunk out of the car, I give him the money plus a tip and head inside, the loby is very modern and new with white couches and glass coffee tables.
I walk over to the front desk and a lady with bright red hair gives me a warm smile.
"Hello, you must be Hayden Elswood, I'm Mary" she says happily.
"Yes its nice to meet you" I say shaking her hand.
"I think your going to love this apartment" she tells me as she guides me to the elevator "its very spacious and great for first home owners".
I listen to her tell me about the apartment as the elevator rises to the nineth floor, we exit the elevator and follow Mary to the apartment.
She opens the door and I follow her inside. The apartment is gorgous, the lounge room is modern but not crowded, a black four seater sofa comes of the wall, a arm chair is next to the lounge, a flat screen TV hangs oppisate the sofa, a fluffy white rug is layed across the floor and a wooden coffee table in the middle of it all, window go accross the whole wall leading to a small kitchen, a hallway leads out of the lounge room, there are three doors down the hallway, one is the master bedroom with a soft bed with curtins hanging around wooden poles a desk and a small walk in closet with a large rug on the floor are also in there, the second door is anouther bedroom but this one is almost emty with just a small bed and a desk with a large window for a wall, the last room is the bathroom with a massive glass shower and a spa bath in the corner.
"What do you think" Mary asks as I walk back into the lounge room.
"Its perfect" I say to her.
"I'm glad you like it" she says, a large smile forms on her face "the good thing is you would be able to move in straight away" she tells me.
"Thats great" I say.
"Good I have all the paper work set up for you" she says gesturing to the kichen counter.
I nod and make my way to the kitchen, 10 minutes later all the paper work is signed and the apartment is mine.
I wave goodbye to Mary and head back inside, I unpack my trunk putting my clothes into the closet and my laptop on my desk.
I need bed sheets and dishes so I diside to go to target, it only takes a couple of minutes to find the place but I find everything I need plates, pans, sheets and I bought a new essal and a variety of new paints and brushes.
By the time I get home the sun is setting and I'm starving, I order a pizza and start putting my things away, I put my essal into the spare bedroom and set it up as my art room.
The pizza arrives and I eat the whole thing, after I print out my class schedule for monday, I diside to go to the diner tomorrow and see about getting a job.
I go to bed early thinking about how much my life is changing for the good and how much I love my new freedom.
