Little... family stuff

After hearing Amélie say these words, Sombra swallows her coffee and lays the letter in front of Amélie:

- Wow I didn't know you still had family somewhere.

- It must be twelve years since I heard from her, she decided to cut off all contact with me.

- Tough. can I ask why ? (Said Sombra as she sat on the corner of the desk looking at Amélie with a hand on her shoulder.)

- Well, that was a long time ago. Earlier in my life when I met Gerard, my mother never agreed with the union. She estimated that his job was far too dangerous and that these dangers could be passed on to me.

- Eh, she was right.

- Hm... she had given me an ultimatum. If I agreed to unite with him, I would never come home or try to contact them again. Otherwise, I was cutting my relationship and would keep my relationship with my parents.

- I'm not really in favor of this method of deterrence.

- All that stuff, that relationship, it was just a huge mistake. I had a husband who was almost absent and over all his work, it finally got me. My mother was right. Because of that I ended up being captured by Talon by his negligence.

- And since you were made into a ball of anger and murder, you decided to kill him in his sleep. Funny as vision of revenge.

- That's pretty much the scenario. Deep down I saw him as a threat so I had no hesitation in suppressing him.

- In the end, if you told your mother it would make one happy.

- I never said that I would respond to this letter.

- You can't run away from the past forever, if I were you I would have read it and if she asks to see you, I will. Bury this story once and for all, make peace with it, I don't know.

- Ughhh, I don't know, I'm tense. (Answers Amélie by plunging her face in her hands.)

- You want me to read it ? yet it's none of my business.

- Don't play this game with me, you know a lot of things about a lot of people and yet these things don't concern you, as you say.

- Eh, I'm just curious, mi amor.

- I know, sorry. That letter frustrates me.

- Hm, you know what, I'm gonna help you take the first step, give me that.

Sombra takes the letter in her hands and tears it up to get out a written letter and a large quantity of money. She takes the whole thing and puts it on the desk in front of Amélie:

- Well, French billets. You have at least a thousand euros in this bundle, your mother does not do things half-way.

- Just by seeing the notes and the letter I know that it will be the outcome of this one.

- It was obvious. Come on, I did half the work for you, and read me this letter. I dig into many cases but not yours, it's only your choice or if  you decide to share everything with me.
