Hurricane

Everything was calm before you came,
The sun was always shining.
And when you entered my life
It felt like the stars were aligning.

You came with a small drizzle,
The occasional drop of rain.
I just focused on your smile,
It would take away all the pain.

The rain started to fall harder,
It suddenly started to pour.
We were beginning to get closer,
But I kept wanting more.

Before I knew it the storm had swept me away,
The wind was far too strong.
You distanced yourself for a while,
But you said you wouldn't be long.

The rain suddenly vanished,
Everything was as like it used to be.
Little did I know this was just the eye of the storm,
I had no idea what you would do to me.

Soon the gusts were back,
And your feelings were beginning to wane.
When you came into my life I thought you were my Prince Charming,
But instead you destroyed me like a hurricane.
