My Universe

As a lover of the cosmos,
Focused on the stars beyond our own,
I always saw the bigger picture,
The world beyond my own home.

The earth is but a tiny dot
On a canvas full of stars.
Easy to gaze up and lose myself,
Forget about a heart full of scars.

But I found a man
That brings me back down to earth.
No longer just a piece of predetermined history,
A new purpose to my birth.

The faults of life
Made forever seem too tough
But the way I feel now
I know eternity could never be enough.

I am simply a collection of atoms,
A product of physics and biology.
But being wrapped up in his arms,
I realize my universe is right in front of me.
