Pressing soft kisses to her lips, my hands hold her hips gingerly as my heart pounds in my chest.
She said it.
She really said it.
"Mhmm..." She quietly moans against my lips. Her stomach growls and I can't help but snicker. "Sorry..."
"Don't be, I've made you wait all day for food."
"Speaking of, let's try this because it smells delicious." Sliding off my lap, she goes back to sitting beside me and grabs her bowl which seems to have cooled just enough for her to grab it without the potholder.
I'm honestly nervous.
I've never made curry and I don't want to either poison her or make her even more sick from how terrible it could be.
She mixes her curry around with her rice and then takes a decent spoonful and pops it in her mouth. I watch intently and my body quite literally shakes as I wait for the results. She finishes her spoonful and sets it down in the bowl and turns slightly to look at me.
"Not good? It's not good. I knew it wasn't gonna be..."
"Stop..." She says firmly and gets another spoonful and offers it to me. "Just try it."
I'm scared too.
But based on her reaction isn't hot and it isn't considered disgusting if she ate it without a disturbed sort of face about her. Hesitatingly, I open my mouth and allow her to feed me my own disaster, but the second it hits my tongue and the spoon is out....
I'm perplexed at what I have done.
"You taste that?" She asks with a small smile. "That, My Darling- is a very very successful Vindaloo."
It's tangy.
It has a decent spice to it.
But it also has a very low hint of sweetness.
Which throws me completely off because then the flavors cycle back around somehow and I'm left with tangy spice filling my tastebuds.
"It's very good, Baby. Very tasty. Just what I wanted." She takes a mother bite and chews it slowly and I grab my bowl.
"I'm glad I didn't poison us."
"Haha...well it's always a risk I suppose." We eat quietly and enjoy the decent curry I've made.
It's nice sitting here silently with her.
Especially because I thought this could never happen.
I thought I ruined us forever.
"Well...that may very well beat Vijay's Vindaloo..." She says as she licks her lips slightly and sets her bowl down on the coffee table as she stretches a bit.
"I won't tell him haha."
"It's for the best- I would say." Taking the bowls to the sink, I hear her get up and pad across the floor to the hallway.
I clean all the dishes and silverware and leave them on her drying rack. Turning back, I find her leaning against the doorframe to the hallway, sadly looking at me.
"Everything okay?" I ask as I slowly walk over to her.
"Indeed." She softly states and as I get closer, my hands come to her small stomach and I lean down and leave a kiss on her forehead.
