Y/n trudged through the freshly fallen snow, their boots sinking with each step.

The wind was biting, and the neighborhood had turned ghostly white under its thick coat of winter, muffling even the slightest of sounds.

And tucked into their arms, snug but still entirely composed, was Mob.

Despite his notorious reputation as the most feared crime boss around, he was... well, he was about three feet tall. And tonight, for reasons they still couldn't quite comprehend, he had insisted they carry him.

There he was, curled snugly in their grasp like a prized trophy, watching the snow fall in silence, one hand resting on their shoulder like he was perfectly at home.

"...Boss." Y/n ventured carefully, feeling the weight of his gaze as he glanced up at them with his one piercing, narrowed eye. "Are you sure I'm, uh... the right person to be doing this?"

Mob tilted his head slightly, like he'd been asked an amusing question. "Yes, you'll do just fine." He replied smoothly, his voice low but commanding. "Besides, you're here to serve me, aren't you?"

There was an edge to his words, a reminder of the position theg now held, whether they wanted it or not.

They could feel the sweat beading up despite the cold. "Yeah... of course. Just... figured you'd prefer Barnaby or Howdy."

His smile turned ever so slightly into something softer, if not still unnervingly sharp. "Let's say this is an honor, hm? A sign that I trust you."

He shifted, leaning slightly against their shoulder as if allowing a rare moment of relaxation.

Though he was light, they felt his presence like a weight.

Inwardly, Y/n couldn't help but feel a twinge of discomfort as Mob seemed entirely unaffected.

They wanted to break the silence, to say something to ease the awkwardness, but the way his gaze seemed to drift between the landscape and them kept their mouth shut.

"I suppose you still don't quite understand your place here, hm?" He said finally, almost to himself. "But in time, you'll come to see that I don't choose people lightly. And once you're chosen... you're with me. Completely."

They let out a shaky breath.

They knew exactly what he meant, there was no walking away, no backing out.

But still, the odd request to carry him left them questioning whether there was something more beneath his imposing exterior.

"Uh... boss." Y/n said, voice cautious. "Still why me? I mean, of all people..."

Mob gave them a long, knowing look, his eyes narrowing slightly, amused. "Let's just say... I see something in you." He murmured, his tone soft but calculating. He reached up, patting Y/n's shoulder as though they were the one in need of reassurance. "And perhaps I'm feeling generous tonight. Consider this an... acknowledgment."

The answer was vague but they nodded, accepting it, or at least pretending to.

He gave a faint hum of satisfaction.

"You still look on edge." He observed, his gaze cutting through their facade.

They forced a shaky laugh, trying to play it off. "Oh, no, no, I'm just... not used to... well, this."

His smirk widened. "Then get used to it. Because from now on, you'll be carrying me a lot more."

As the snow continued to fall, Mob remained curled in Y/n's arms.

It was a strange situation... a moment both intimate and unnerving.
