He woke up finally when it was almost night. That too when I shook him a little to wake up. I understand, he was really tired from all these things that are currently going around in our life. I don't know what to say, but I understand him. A lot.
“Khana kha lijiye, Varun,” I said to him. He sat up slowly on bed, rubbing his eyes.
“Raat ho gayi, aapne uthaya nahin hume.”
I smiled, “Aap kafi thakk Gaye the na. Humne socha aap ko aaram karne de.”
He brushed his fingers lightly upon my cheek, “Itna khayal rakhti hain humara, apna bhi rakh rahin hain na, Malini?”
I held his hand, “Humara khayal rakhne ke liye aap hai na.”
“Hai, magar aaj kal rakh nahin paa rahe na ache se hum aapka khayal, Malini. Hume accha nahin lagta.”
I shifted closer to him, “Aisi koi baat nahin hai. Aap bohot achhe se khayal rakhte hai humara.”
He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on my temple. “Humari jaan hain aap.”
I giggled, “Aur aap humare.”
“Achha ji,”
I nodded my head, standing up slowly from bed. I forwarded my hand towards him, “Aaiye, Khana nikaal rahe hum.”
He held my hand and stood up from the bed, encircling his hand around my shoulders, “Maa aur Babu-ji ne khaya?”
“Ji, sab ne kha liya. Shivaay humare aur aapke.”
“Aap jyada der bhukhi mat Raha karein na, Malini. Hume aapki chinta hoti hai.”
I shook my head, “Aap fizul mein hi chinta karte hain. Hum toh khaate hi rehte hain. Ab bhuk lagegi tabhi na khayenge.”
“Kyun? Aaj kal isey Kam bhuk lagne lagi hai kya?” He caressed my belly lightly.
I chuckled, “Shayad se. Nani Ghar mein kaafi khatirdari Hui hai na.”
He laughed. We moved together inside the kitchen. While I stood leaning against the wall, he served the food on one plate for both of us. Then we walked outside and he picked up a chair, kept in front of me and signaled me to sit on it.
I frowned, “Baithiye na, niche.”
He shook his head, “Aap idhar baithiye. Humne dekha hain aapko niche baithne mein pareshani hoti hai. Chup-chap baithiye.”
“Nahin hoti Va—” I tried to say but he shushed me, “Shh, chup chap baithiye kursi par.”
I sat down on the chair. He was standing, leaning against the wall as he picked up a morsel and forwarded it towards my mouth.
I took it and spoke while chewing, “Aap bhi baithiye na.”
Then he started sitting slowly beside my legs. I immediately stopped him, “Niche nahin. Kursi le aaiye na. Aap niche hum upar.”
He knit his brows together and chuckled, sitting on the floor anyhow, “Kya aap bhi.”
“Varun,” he forwarded another bite towards me to silence me.
I formed a pout on my lips.
“Aise chehra mat banaya karein. Badi pyaari lagti hain aap. Jee karta hai pakad kar kamre mein le ja kar kass ke chume aapko, aur chhore hi na jab tak Mann na bhhare.”
