Laera liked to sing.

A lot.

And at ungodly hours of the morning.

Galadriel rolled over in her blankets, and tried to put a pillow over her head and go back to sleep. It was no use. She was well and truly awake now.

Galadriel sighed. Adar and Grendel had managed to sleep through the whole thing. It was only Galadriel that had been awoken by Laera's impromptu singing.

Just a few hours ago, they'd all been friends, said their goodbyes to the woodland elves, and set out on a journey to Numenor. Now, Galadriel was almost regretting not slitting Laera's throat in the castle. It probably wouldn't have killed the Moriondor woman, but it might have stopped her from singing.

Laera looked up when she saw Galadriel glaring at her. "Oh, sorry." Laera said. "Did I wake you up?" Galadriel clenched her fists, and reminded herself that this was Adar's sister, and she loved Adar, so it stood to reason that she could get along with Laera. "I'm part sorcerer." Laera said, by way of explanation.

"Have you ever met Gandalf? Because he sings. He sings all the time. He puts my singing to shame." Laera said. Galadriel sighed, reminded herself again of how much she loved Adar, and prayed she'd never meet this perpetually singing sorcerer Gandalf.

"Are all the Moriondor different?" Galadriel asked. "Adar is half elf, and you're half sorcerer. Are there half human Moriondor too?" She was asking both out of curiosity, and because she wanted to know if there would be any more surprise siblings. Galadriel understood that Adar had thought he'd never see Laera again, which was why he'd never mentioned her. But if there were any other long lost siblings, especially the kind that might not be friendly, Galadriel had to know.

"Yeah, there's a few of us still left." Laera said. "They're mostly living by themselves, though. Not to worry, the rest of our siblings won't cause us much trouble." Much. They wouldn't cause 'much' trouble. That didn't exactly inspire much confidence in Galadriel

"How many days until we reach Numenor?" Galadriel asked. If God had mercy, it would be a short amount of time. "About a day's time until we reach the ships." Laera said. "Then it'll be another day or two until we reach Numenor itself." Galadriel sighed. That was just what she was fearing. Not only would she spend three more days stuck with Laera, but for two of them, she'd be stuck in close quarters with her on a boat. Galadriel sighed. This was going to be a long journey.
