LUZ TALIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN ORDINARY. Her brother, Jayce Talis was extraordinary, he was the founder of Hextech! The technology that changed Piltover forever, that set Jayce's name in the history books of their nation. Luz didn't care much about history books or science but what she did care about was her future, because Jayce went to the academy and became a scientist, Luz was left to follow in her parents footsteps. Luz is an excellent blacksmith and weapon maker but she doesn't want to be just that. She doesn't want to be like her father, a man who die being known as just the guy who created the collapsible pocket wrench and she doesn't want to be like her mother, who's too afraid to leave the city. So when her best friend, Caitlyn, tells her she's going to the Undercity, Luz is determined to come and prove that she can do more than just create hammers.
