There was a knock on the door, but Zain didn’t respond. Another knock came, and finally, Zain opened the door to find Amal standing there. Seeing her, Zain slammed the door shut. But Amal knocked again, and when Zain opened the door, he asked, "What is it?"
Amal was about to speak when she noticed Zain’s hand, which was bleeding heavily.
"Oh my God, Zain, what happened to your hand?" she exclaimed, and immediately walked into the room.
"It’s nothing, just a small scratch," Zain replied, trying to downplay it.
"A small scratch?" Amal said. "So much blood is coming out, and you're calling it a small scratch? Let me put a bandage on it. Wait here, I’ll go get the first aid kit."
Amal made Zain sit and began applying a bandage to his hand.
Zain kept looking at her muttered from within, "dard be khud hii daiti ho aur marham b khud hii lagati ho"
"Did you say something?" Amal asked, hearing his mumbling.
"No," Zain replied.
"Zain, how did you get this injury?" Amal asked as she noticed blood on the balcony floor as well. She walked out to see the blood and turned back, "Zain, why are you staying quiet? Who did this to you?"
Zain had no excuse at that moment.
And Zain avoided the question.
Alright fine, don't tell me. But at least you can tell me what you were doing on the balcony at that time. Don't tell me, you, too like looking at the moon like I do?
Zain let out a sad laugh and replied, "I did like the view once, but not anymore. My moon has shattered now."
Zain, your words and all of this are beyond my understanding, Amal said.
"Oh, I see," Amal continued, "Could it be that you had a breakup? That’s why I was thinking you’ve been so quiet and troubled lately. Is that it?"
Zain, after looking at Amal for a moment, said, "The girl I loved is in love with someone else. What should I do now?"
Hearing Zain's words, Amal became serious. "Is it really true? Uff, this unrequited love can kill a person. If she’s happy, then you should let her be, because you must want her to be happy, right?"
"She is happy, but what about my happiness? How can I live? I’ll die thinking about it," Zain replied, his tears falling. For the first time, Zain was so weak.
Amal had no idea that Zain felt this strongly for her, and all of this was happening because of her. Amal said to him, "It’s better for you to forget her, as if you never met her."
"How can I forget her? How can one forget to breathe?" Zain said, looking into Amal’s eyes, and tears were streaming down his face. For the first time in his life, Zain felt this weak.
Amal was left speechless, unable to find any words and seeing Zain like this, she completely forgot the reason she had come to his room in the first place with that, she left without saying a word
"After Amal left, Zain looked at his hand, which Amal had wrapped with a bandage, and said...
