The college campus buzzed with energy that morning, a mixture of excitement and nostalgia in the air. Today marked a special occasion-a farewell function for two retiring professors and a welcome for their replacements. The principal's office, however, was unusually lively.
"Unbelievable! It's a miracle!" Principal Ali Hassan exclaimed into the phone, pacing the length of his office. His voice was a mixture of shock and delight. "I never thought they'd agree, but here we are. This is beyond my imagination."
Meanwhile, Amal's mother hovered over her in the dining room. "Amal, at least eat something before you leave! You never take proper breakfast. How will you survive the day like this?"
"Maa, I'm already running late!" Amal replied, adjusting her scarf. "I promise, from tomorrow, I'll eat properly. But not today!" With that, she grabbed her bag and walked out. Her driver was already waiting by the car.
"Amal madam, you're running late today," the driver remarked with a polite smile as she slid into the back seat.
"I know, I know," Amal said, glancing at her watch. "Just hurry up!"
At the college, preparations were in full swing. Chairs were being aligned in the auditorium, flowers arranged on the stage, and a soft buzz of voices echoed through the halls. Amal stepped out of the car and made her way inside, her bag slung over her shoulder.
Asma was waiting impatiently near the practice room. "Finally!" she exclaimed as soon as Amal appeared.
"Sorry, traffic was horrible," Amal said, rushing toward her.
"Hurry up, Sam's been asking for you. We have to do the final dance rehearsal before the event starts!"
Amal dropped her bag outside the practice room and quickly adjusted her dupatta. "Okay, okay, I'm here now! Let's do this."
Inside, the group was already practicing, their synchronized movements filling the space with energy. Sam, the lead choreographer, noticed Amal entering.
"Amal, you're late," Sam said sternly but waved her over. "We're starting from the top. Everyone, positions!"
The music started, and the group began their choreography, a lively mix of classical and modern dance styles. Amal flowed into her movements, her steps perfectly aligned with the rhythm. Sam nodded in approval but stopped the music halfway through.
"Amal, your spin at the end needs more height. Let's try again," he instructed.
"Got it," Amal said, focusing intently.
As the group resumed their practice, the air was filled with determination and the excitement of the big event. The day had only just begun, but for Amal, it was already shaping up to be unforgettable.
The final dance rehearsal had come to an end, and the event was about to begin. The auditorium was packed with students, and Professor Ahsan Qureshi and Professor Shahnaz Malik were seated at the front, their names written on the reserved seats. The stage was set, the atmosphere electric, as the event was about to kick off.
The principal was pacing nervously backstage, repeatedly dialing numbers on his phone, checking if the final guests had arrived. "Has the transport reached yet? The event is about to start!" he muttered under his breath, glancing at his watch.
As the event began, the auditorium filled with applause. The principal took the stage and gave a heartfelt speech, honoring the retiring professors. There were various performances, and the audience was captivated by the talent on display. After an hour, a break was announced, allowing everyone a moment to relax and prepare for the second part of the event.
