Author's POV:

Roshni slowly opened her eyes, the morning sunlight streaming through the window. She rubbed the lingering sleep from her eyes, her mind still foggy. The memory of Saad's text—"Hey! Are you ignoring me?"—lingered, making her heart flutter.

As she swung her legs over the side of the bed, her gaze fell upon the diary she'd left open the night before. The ink had smeared where her tears had fallen, blurring the words she'd written about Saad.

She went for a shower and came out in a pretty white dress with floral designs.

Roshni stomped into the kitchen, her eyes still puffy from the previous night's tears. Asad, already brewing coffee, noticed her exhausted expression.

Asad asked, " What happened, Roshni?" after witnessing her disturbed behavior.

She replied, " N-Nothing, Bhaiya" while stammering because she didn't know what to say. She smiled slightly to stop Asad's curious mind.

But Asad asked her, " Why did you barge in the house yesterday as if you were running from something....or someone" with concern etched on his face.

Her eyes widened when he said 'someone' with a pause. She was wondering how he must have gotten to know.

She replied, " I just have a lot of workloads that's why I look exhausted nothing to worry" trying to brush off the topic.

But Asad's piercing gaze was not satisfied with her explanation. His hands go to Roshni's shoulders and he gets hold of them. He said, " I know Roshni something is bothering you or maybe someone." trying to give her support so that she could trust him and reveal her problems.

She replied, " Do you really think someone can bother me!?" putting her hands on her waist and pointing her finger at herself, to lighten the serious atmosphere.

Asad laughed at her antics. She also laughed with him. Asad didn't push further and they both had their breakfast.

On the other hand, Saad's thoughts have been occupied with Roshni since he woke up. He was again and again checking if she replied to his text but it was still on seen.

Roshni's tears and hasty departure had left him puzzled and concerned. Saad was in casual clothes today.

He tried immersing himself in the pending work to distract his thoughts. But his thoughts kept drifting towards her only.

On the other side, Asad was getting restless after seeing Roshni's mood off. He was not convinced that she just had work overload. He decided to follow her until he reached the roots of Roshni's uneasy behavior.

Roshni entered her car. Taking a deep breath she started her car and went towards her cafe bookstore. Her thoughts constantly lingered about Saad and she knew that he would arrive today at her bookstore.

Asad was cleverly following her from afar. Roshni felt someone was following her she checked from the rearview mirror but no one was found suspicious.

Roshni entered her store. While Asad wore a mask and entered after some time. He went and sat in a corner with a book and acted as if he was reading it. Roshni who noticed him but didn't recognise him who was now quite curious to know who he was but she let go off the thought after she saw a luxurious car come in front of her store.

A man came out of it who was looking incredibly handsome even in casuals. He went straight towards Roshni after entering the store.

She recognized that it was none other than Saad, her brother's best friend.

She went into her own imagination after recognizing him. She thought, " Is he really my brother's best friend!? I doubt it" while admiring him with a sly grin on her pretty face.

As Saad was walking towards Roshni their eyes met and till he reached her which felt like an eternity.

Both were lost in admiring each other and Saad's hand unknowingly went to hold her hand and when he held her hand she jolted back to reality. Roshni stepped back after glancing at their locked hands.

Saad who was feeling magical after locking gazes with Roshni. He felt a shiver run down his spine as he held her hand with so much love and affection. But his feeling was short-lived as Roshni stepped back.

On the other hand, Asad whose jaw dropped under his mask while witnessing what was happening in front of his hazel eyes. He was shocked to see Saad at Roshni's cafe bookstore. He was observing them from afar while hiding behind the book. His eyes widened when he saw Saad reaching out for Roshni's hand.

Meanwhile, in Roshni's hazel-green orbs tears were welling up as she didn't want to face Saad. She was afraid that if her feelings developed what might happen. Saad was now getting curious to know why she was distancing herself from him.

He could not control his curious mind so he asked, " Kyu Roshni, kyu khudko mujhse dur kar rahi ho?" stepping closer but she again stepped back and signaled him through her hand to stop where he was.

She replied, " Stop, stop right there and I am not going to answer any of your questions" coldly while pointing her finger at him.

He was taken aback by her cold side. He said, "Okay don't answer any of my questions but I know why you're distancing yourself from me" calmly.

She replied, " Wh..what? Wh..why would I distance myself?" while stammering but composed herself.

He said, " Because I am Asad's best friend" while staring deep into her eyes which sent a chill down her spine. Her eyes widened because she didn't know how he knew the truth.

Asad was just able to see the scene he couldn't hear them because he was at a distance. He tried going a little closer to them to hear what they were talking about. When he got up from his seat and went forward but a hand came out of nowhere on his shoulder stopping him in his tracks. His heart started beating fast as he turned to face the person.
