Reymond White is not your average guy. Sure, he looks like a regular sleep-deprived 20 year old, but really he's not. Because ever since he was 6, Rey knew when he would die.

He had dreamt of that day for years, never changing, and always terrifying. It haunts him.

The sound of the snow beneath his feet crunching, the feel of his frostbitten hands, the sight of blood dripping down his chest and the cry of pain that is released from his blue lips. Reymond White was to freeze to death.

Every winter would terrify him, as if it made his death feel more real...more cold.

But he knew that death was patient, and was waiting for his 21st birthday. The end of winter.

Rey wanted to go out as a good guy, giving his money out to charity, and dropping out of school and university to spend more time with his family.

He told them that spending money on him would be a waste, as he would be gone soon enough.

His parents kicked him out of their house the moment he turned 18, and he now lives in a small snowy town with his younger sister and girlfriend. Maddy and Alice. He will miss them.

Rey stared out the window of the small wooden hut for a second longer before hopping out of bed. He put on his warmest clothes, despite not feeling too cold.

As he tiptoed down the hall, he made sure to check in on Maddy, who was sound asleep. Rey smiled. The 10 yr old had had a rough time without him, back at his parents place, so they let her stay here for the holidays.

His smile faded as he remembered how she looked at the beginning of the year. Begging to go with him, crying.

He shook the thought out of his head and silently closed the door, creeping down the remainder of the hallway.

Alice was already up, sitting down with a mug that said 'bite me'. Her hair was a tangled black mess as usual, and she had eyebags. Rey smirked.

"Oooh..." He said, leaning against the cupboard. "You seem like you're in a great mood." He gave Alice a cheeky smile.

Alice took another sip out of her mug before rolling her eyes and commenting. "You better have done the washing like I told you yesterday."

Rey paled and it was Alice's turn to smirk. "Knew it." She said, slurping up the last few drops of her coffee before giving him a knowing look.

Rey pretended to look confused and like he knew nothing about what she was looking at, but he wasn't fooling anyone. With a sigh he turned around and opened the nearest cupboard. Nothing.

He raised an eyebrow at Alice, who shrugged. He continued to open another. Nothing. Another. Nothing. Another. Nothing. He continued opening all of the cupboards until there were none left.

Rey groaned. "Did you seriously eat EVERYTHING?!"

Alice looked up at him like he was joking. "No? Surely there must be something here?"

She rechecked all the cupboards, but not a single crumb of food was to be found. Rey turned to look at her again.

"When did you go to bed?" He asked, brow furrowed.

Alice chuckled nervously before mumbling something.

Rey raised an eyebrow. "When did you go to bed Alice?"

She stared down at her feet as she muttered "15"

Rey groaned, found the couch and slumped dramatically into the comfortable chair.

Alice walked over and looked down at him, partially irritated and partially amused. "Want me to start the car?" She asked.

Rey nodded, before lifting his hands up for scissors, paper, rock. Alice smiled. "You're on."

He was on indeed, on duty of waking up his little sister having lost to Alice. He groaned and swung his legs off the arm of the chair.

"Why do you even bother?" Alice commented. "You know you suck at rock paper scissors."

"Shut up." He groaned, elbowing Alice out of the way as she started to make her way down to the shed.

Alice smugly called out "Good luck!" As he trudged miserably down to his sister's room.
