the mental illness got the best of me so i think i'm back for the time being! this is a revised version of a story called skater boy that i had published for like a day lol. but i most definitely have a plan for this now :)
Tyler Joseph did not expect to be woken up on the last day of summer break by someone kissing delicately along his jaw. Yet, that's exactly what happened.
And he definitely wasn't going to complain about it.
He peeked one eye open and was met with his girlfriend hovering above him, the smile on her face held back as her glossy lower lip was held between her teeth. Despite that, a small giggle left her mouth and Tyler involuntarily smiled back in response.
She moved from her position with both knees on either side of his body to lean forward and place one more gentle kiss on his lips. "Good morning, Mr. President."
"Good morning, Madam Vice President," he hummed back in adoration.
She let out another giggle as she moved off of Tyler completely to instead lay next to him on his bed. Tyler turned on his side to face her as she spoke. "I'll take what I can get until that title changes to First Lady of the United States."
Tyler playfully rolled his eyes at that. "The original agenda had you only as Vice President, Miss Jenna Black. Girlfriend wasn't outlined anywhere in the five-year plan," he teased.
"Sometimes the universe has better things planned," Jenna replied simply with a shrug, sending a soft smile his way.
"Is that your way of saying "fuck your five-year plan?'" Tyler asked as he raised an eyebrow. The words themselves, however, held no genuine offense or betrayal.
Jenna registered that and laughed again, lightheartedly pushing his shoulder in response. "No! You know I have only the utmost respect for your five-year plan," she joked.
"Yeah, you better," he said, the teasing tone never leaving his voice. "How did you even get in my house, stalker?"
"One, we've been best friends for like six years I think I'm entitled to stalking you at this point," Jenna began. "Two... your housekeeper let me in."
"Ah, okay. So no breaking and entering involved. That's good to know."
"Well duh, you can't have a vice president with a rap sheet," she joked. "Why were you even still asleep this late in the day anyway? Are you trying to waste the last day of your final summer break before graduation?"
Tyler's eyes floated up to the alarm clock on his nightstand placed right behind Jenna. 12:48 it read.
He groaned dramatically and turned back so he was directly parallel to the ceiling, bringing his arms over his face as he did so. "I was up late preparing for the Welcome Back Assembly tomorrow morning," he mumbled into his elbow, just loud enough for Jenna to hear.
He felt his arms leave his face as Jenna took them and rested them on the bed with a slightly disappointed look. "Tyler," she deadpanned. "What's the point of having Maya and me around if you don't let us stop you from overworking yourself?"
The mentioned pretended to be in thought for a moment, before nodding his head decisively and looking Jenna directly in the eye. "Well it definitely doesn't hurt that you're nice to look at," she rolled her eyes at that. "You're right though," he continued seriously. "I'll try to keep that in mind, but you might have to remind me from time to time. I'd be lost without you guys."
Smile on her face, Jenna sent him a teasing look. "We know. Behind every great man was an even greater woman— or in this case, one or more greater women. Lewis and Clark? Their expedition would have completely failed without the guidance of Sacagawea. John Lennon? Some of his most honest and groundbreaking work only exists because Yoko Ono urged him to create it. Countless U.S. Presidents? I mean, c'mon, there was Eleanor Roosevelt, Jackie Kennedy, Martha Washington, Mary Todd Lincoln—"
