Part 18: Soul of the Serpent
Sophia's ancestral power coursed through her veins, weakening the Devourer's hold on the Umbra. Bastien's loup-garou form and Adèle's vampire strength pressed the attack.
The serpent's darkness began to dissipate, revealing a glowing core. Sophia reached out, connecting with the serpent's soul.
"I see the curse's origin," Sophia whispered. "The Archon's manipulation, the corruption of our kin."
Élise nodded. "The serpent was once a guardian, tasked with protecting the Heart of Umbra."
The serpent's soul stirred, memories resurfacing. "I was deceived...by The Archon's promise."
Sophia's compassion flowed. "We'll break the curse. Free you from this darkness."
With a burst of energy, Sophia shattered the curse's hold. The serpent transformed, its darkness dissipating.
A radiant being emerged, its soul now free. "Thank you, Sophia," it said.
