Let's play
It's been a hard road but I'm almost home
As the lights fade to black
Hear the roar of the crowd
Ten thousand loud
It's good to be backFeel the sting the sweat
Of the back of my neck
It's been way too long
Like a ricochet I hit the stage
Lets get it on
I'm back in the game
Breaking hearts again
You better watch out
'Cause I'm back in the game
I'm back in the game
Kickin' ass again
No stopping me now
It's like I've never been away
So you better watch out
'Cause I'm back in the game
Oh yeahBack In The Game - Airbourne
**POV Olli**
It was the first day of the tournament; the first matches were set to begin in the afternoon, and everyone was incredibly nervous. But there was something I needed to address before everything started, a concern that had been eating away at me.
I had asked the team and the Senseis to meet in the gym at nine o'clock sharp for an important announcement, and I had emphasized that the team should wear their gis, so they could warm up before the matches. Everyone filed in silently, the tension clear on their faces.
—Good morning, everyone. Welcome. I called you here so early because I need you to fully understand what's going to happen from this afternoon onward. The matches will be far more brutal than anything you've ever experienced. This isn't some knitting contest. It's fucking karate. One of the most brutal tournaments in the world. You're likely going to get hurt, and badly. Some of you might even sustain serious injuries. Up until now, you've only faced Cobra Kai; from today on, Cobra Kai will be just one of sixteen dojos competing, which means we have fourteen other dojos to face. And they'll all be tougher than us.—
I started pacing back and forth in the gym, in front of the students lined up beside the Senseis. I looked at them for a moment, then continued.
—As you know, Devon broke her arm, and since we're down one person, I've decided to take her place, while she will do what I was supposed to: studying tactics. She's amazing at that. But the rest of us will fight, and no one will hold back. No mercy, because trust me, your opponents won't show any.—
—Olivia-san is right!—
I froze at the sound of that voice; I hadn't heard it in forever, but it always felt like —home— to me. I turned around quickly and ran toward him, stopping short right in front of him. I wasn't sure if he'd appreciate the embrace. But he smiled and opened his arms.
—You can hug me, Olivia-san!—
I threw my arms around his neck, laughing. —Chozen, what the heck are you doing here?—
—Hey! I'm part of Miyagi-Do too, Olivia-san. And I'm still your Sensei.—
—Technically, you're not anymore. Sensei.—
—You're right.— He paused, a playful glint in his eyes, then did something that left me frozen in surprise. He bowed formally to me and the other Senseis. —Senseis.—
—I was explaining how the tournament will work, Chozen. Feel free to jump in whenever you want.—
—I will, Olivia-san.—
