Jisoo
It was the 9th of November, and the crisp autumn air lingered around Jennie's balcony, painted with the hues of fallen leaves and the scent of impending winter. Jisoo sat on the old wicker chair, a spot that held countless memories for the two friends, but today it felt different. The usual comfort the place brought was overshadowed by her thoughts, heavy with disappointment.Jinyoung had been discharged from the military two days ago. Jisoo had eagerly counted down the days, holding onto his promise of reaching out as soon as he was free. Yet, the awaited call or message hadn't come. Her phone lay silently beside her, a constant reminder of the missing call or text that should have been there.
Jennie watched her friend from the doorway, her heart saddened to see Jisoo like this. She had known Jisoo for years and understood how much she had invested emotionally into this wait. It wasn't just about the promise, it was about the affirmation that their connection was still as important to him as it was to her, after not being in contact for two years.
"Hey," Jennie spoke softly, stepping onto the balcony, the boards creaking slightly underfoot. "Maybe he's just busy? You know how things can get when you're transitioning back to normal life."
Jisoo sighed, holding onto the warmth of the blanket draped over her shoulders. "I understand that," she replied, her voice tinged with a mix of melancholy and frustration. "But it was his promise. It meant something."
Jennie approached her, placing a comforting hand on Jisoo's shoulder. "I know. And you have every right to feel the way you do. It's just...sometimes people don't act the way we hope they will."
Jisoo nodded, trying to listen to Jennie's words, but her heart felt heavy. "It's just...I thought we were closer than that. What if he doesn't feel the same way anymore?"
Jennie squeezed her shoulder gently. "You're assuming the worst, Jisoo. He might have had a lot to handle and didn't realize how much this silence would affect you."
Silence stretched between them, only interrupted by the distant rustling of leaves. Jennie wanted to do more to lift her friend's spirits, but she knew some battles had to be faced internally.
"How about we do something to take your mind off things for a while?" Jennie suggested, trying to get a smile from her. "We could binge-watch our favorite series or bake something ridiculous."
A faint smile tugged at Jisoo's lips. "Baking does sound good. Maybe something like macarons."
"There we go," Jennie grinned, relieved to see that hint of light back in Jisoo's eyes. "Let's go make some black and pink macarons!"
As they went inside, the warmth of Jennie's apartment wrapped around them, a stark contrast to the chilly air outside. The smell of baked macarons soon filled the space, mingling with laughter and shared memories. Jisoo's heart was still heavy, but in the presence of her friend, she found a flicker of solace. Jinyoung's promise still hung in the back of her mind, but for now, she chose to focus on the certainty of the moment she was in.

Hey guys, I just wanted to write this story for fun. Since Jinyoung came back this story just came to my head but please just keep in mind that it is fiction and the two are just good friends in real life (who don't know that their soul mates... yet). But this is how I feel like things were to go in a jinji shippers head(in other words me). So please do enjoy✨ thanks for reading. Remember, it is just a fictional story.
