"Where the F**K did that ruby set to go?" Khushi yelled in frustration and anger. "I, myself put that set in her purse. How can it vanish in the air like this?"
"Looking for this??" they both turned towards the cold voice and their faces paled watching Rahul leaning against the door, Vedant standing behind him.Girls' eyes widened when they saw the same shimmering ruby necklace in Rahul's hands.
His jaw and eyes hardened on both girls as he stood a few centimeters away. "Where ...a-a-and h-how did y-you find it?" they tried hard to fake their innocence hoping to fool them with their meticulous acting skills. "When you planned to hide this (indicating the set in his hands) in Mansi's purse." Rahul noticed the necklace hanging out of Khushi's stylish dress when Lashika was arguing to go and check Mansi's purse. Their faces drain out of color.
"Did you really think I wouldn't notice? I followed and saw both of you hiding this necklace in Mansi's purse. After you both left, I went inside and pulled the necklace out of the purse. But I still couldn't understand your intentions behind doing this." His sharp voice sends a chill to everyone in the room.Lashika opens her mouth to protest, but Rahul cuts her off, stepping forward with such intensity that she takes a step back."Not another word from either of you." He shouted furiously and Lashika clenched her fist in anger.
"Who gave you the right to go this far to hurt someone's feelings? Not only her but you embarrassed her whole family." He added while controlling his anger but was failing miserably as he recalled Mansi's tears-stricken face.
"Why do you care so much for her...Huh? There's nothing like you are in love with her, Bhai... Why did you agree to this marriage? She is just some middle-class girl who doesn't even match our standards. She just wants our money, status and--" "ENOUGH, KHUSHI...." Rahul's deep and dangerous voice boomed in the whole room. "If you can't keep your bitterness in check, maybe you should learn when to stay quiet. Mansi is going to be a part of this family now, and I won't tolerate you disrespecting her anymore," he added with a hidden warning.
"We won't stand by and let you tear someone down just because you don't like them. This stops now." Vedant, too, added firmly agreeing with Rahul.Khushi was crying by now but her anger remained the same as she stomped out of the room. Rahul's heart shattered for talking like this to Khushi but Vedant assured him that he knew his sister, Khushi better than anyone else.
