Chapter 7: The Man is Something!

As they all finishes their meal, they goes to sleep. Arindom and bijoya goes into their room, while apu and aditi enters into their's. The lay on bed, switched off the light. Darkness has covered the room.

Aditi soon falls asleep. But sleep is vanished from apu's eyes. The room is dark; there is no sign of light. But still a face is comming upon her eyes. A face with clinched jaw, Stern eyes, piercing gaze from behind sunglass... lights up in her mind.

Her heart skips a beat. Her breath changes the rhythm. It is late of winter, welcoming the spring ahead. So there is still a little cold, that they have put a bedsheet upon them. But Apu suddenly feels hot. She flips away the cover.

Something is wrong! Something is different! Something is haunting her that she can't just lay on the bed. Something is so unsettling that she can't even close her eyes!

She couldn't find out what is happening with her. Once she thinks, to wake up aditi, her elder sister and ask her. So she looks to her. She is in her mid sleep, so deep. Apu can't wake her up. Disgusted upon herself, she turns and squeezes her eyes close.

But again that man pops up! His rage, his temptation, his hot breath hit her again with Herculean force. She snaps open her eyes.

"What the hell is going on with me!!" Surpried by herself, she askes her mind. But it stays quite.

She seat up, take the bottol from bedside table and drinks a good amount of water. But still her pulse races.

"O ma go...ummmh..." angry with her racing pulse, she let out a low scream. It muffels as she shoves her face into a pillow. A desparate attempt to get some slip.

But it just make her more restless. She seat up in a jolt, and looks outside. And then the nature of outside has mesmerized her.

Moon light is comming from window, giving the room a ethereal glow. Suddenly, for the first time, everything in the room seems so beautiful to apu's eyes, like never before.

The room is quite, but apu's mind is racing. She can't just stay on the bed. She stand up and goes by the window.

A cool breeze hit her face. She looks up to the moon. Outside it is very beautiful. All the trees and houses and the ally is flooded with moonlight. It all seemed surreal.

There were a little rain before sometime. The muddy smell has filled the air. Apu loves this smell. She draws a long breath to get in this smell. But her brain buzzes with the strong scent of.... Rishi!

Apu closes her eyes. This smell, within a second, drags her back straight to him. She draws a long breath to get more of it. Her face flushes with heat. Rishi's stomp on the road get more clear. Her breaths goes faster. Flapping of his laples echoes in her ears. It's buzzing is uncontrollable. Her ears fumes. The hooting and whistling of night birds, croaking of frogs, rustling sound of leaves, even continues tune of pesky bug fades away.

The wheez of her hot, rasp breath drums on her ears. Her heart starts racing. Inspite of the cool breeze, She can feel his warm breath on his skin. Her cheek blushes. She can feel he is comming to her, getting near and near more. Her breath chokes.

"Now have it and end the matter here, now." Rishi's voice thunders in her mind. She trembles, clasping the window rails tightly. His voice rumbles into herself, her gut churns. Air seemed too thick to breath in. She gasps. The low hum of her gasp, tears the sillence of the atmosphere. She flinches.

His clinched jaw, Stern brows, the tempting anger; hit her hard. She suddenly feels so light, her legs trembles. She leans on the window, to keep herself stright. Her chest constricts, her breath get stuck in throat. Instinctively her lips parted, suck in some air.

The coal black eyes! Apu gasps again. That pearcing gaze! Her soul is trembles, the intensity stabs her. Suddenly she feels so weak, claspes the rail more tightly to hold on to. Her breaths goes short. With each raspy breath; her chest heaves briskly. It constricts, turning her breaths to struggle. She squeezes her eyes as her chest pains each time she fights for a breath.

But all this struggle, all this pain; suddenly feels so lovely. A pearcing pain spreads through her heart. But it feels so good! A surprise escalates on her skin, it prickles! A bittersweet pang waves through her body. She gasps, bits her lips. A single tear drops, rolled down her check. She doesn't wipe it. She has lost the strength to move. She stands still gripping her hands on the rails, weightless!

Little did she know, that their fate will cross path again!
