Blake's POV:

As we stepped out of the lecture hall, the campus buzzed with life, but all my attention was on Amara. We fell into step beside each other, the air crackling with unspoken possibilities. I nudged her playfully and asked, "So, what do you like to do for fun?" Her eyes sparkled with mischief as she replied, "Well, I'm really into spontaneous adventures. Are you up for one?"

My heart raced at the challenge, and I grinned. "Absolutely!"

Her excitement was palpable as she leaned in closer, her voice a conspiratorial whisper. "How about we check out that café downtown tomorrow? I heard they have the best pastries! Then we could stroll through the park and maybe hit that quirky little bookstore I saw the other day." She paused, biting her lip, gauging my reaction. "Or, if you're feeling really adventurous, we could rent bikes and ride along the river! What do you think?"

The thought of spending the day with her sent my pulse racing. "All of that sounds amazing! Let's start with the café and see where the day takes us," I replied, my grin wide and genuine.

Amara's face lit up, her enthusiasm infectious. "Definitely! There's this hidden grove in the park with huge, ancient trees that create the perfect canopy. It feels magical, especially when the sunlight filters through the leaves. There's a cozy bench where we can chill and chat or maybe share a pastry."

I nodded, already picturing us there—a peaceful escape from the chaos of campus life. "That sounds perfect! I love the idea of finding a quiet spot to relax and enjoy the day together."

Her excitement was contagious, and I felt a thrill at the thought of creating unforgettable memories with her. "Let's make it our mission to find that grove!" I declared, determination in my voice. After exchanging goodbyes, I walked toward the parking lot, my heart still buzzing with anticipation.

But then I saw him—a man I didn't recognize waiting for Amara. A sudden wave of jealousy surged through me. Who was he? Did Amara feel the same way about me, or was this just wishful thinking? I quickly snapped a picture of the scene and sent it to Daniel, my mind racing as I stormed off. Was he her boyfriend? Maybe even her fiancée? I barely knew Amara, and here I was, trying to win her heart.

Once I got home, I flung my backpack onto the couch and paced the room like a caged animal. My heart thudded in my chest as I replayed the scene outside the lecture hall. Daniel burst through the door, a grin plastered on his face. "Bro, that car is registered to someone named Brooks."

"Brooks? That's Amara's last name!" I exclaimed, a mix of relief and confusion washing over me.

Daniel shrugged, "Must be some family."

Thank goodness it wasn't what I thought, but the relief was short-lived. Daniel raised an eyebrow, a teasing smirk creeping onto his lips. "And what were you thinking?"

I realized I had spoken my thoughts out loud. "N-no, nothing! Just... nothing," I stammered.

Daniel's expression shifted to one of playful suspicion. "Hmm, something's fishy here."

Just then, Eliza walked in, her curiosity piqued. "What's going on, boys?"

Daniel, ever the instigator, replied, "Oh, Blakey over here—"

"Don't call me that!" I interrupted, throwing a pillow at him.

He dodged, laughing as he got closer to Eliza. "So, Blakey thinks he's got a thing for Amara."

Eliza's eyes widened. "Wait, what? Really?!"

Daniel chuckled, clearly enjoying my embarrassment. "Oh, he's definitely got a crush!"

"No, no! It's not like that!" I protested, feeling heat rise to my cheeks. "You two idiots need to get out of my room!" I tossed another pillow, and they both scrambled for the door, laughter echoing behind them.

Once they were gone, I flopped back onto my bed, staring at the ceiling. My mind was a whirlwind of thoughts about Amara. I couldn't help but smile, imagining the fun we would have tomorrow.

Suddenly, my phone buzzed, breaking me from my daydream. I glanced at the screen—it was a picture of me lying there, caught in one of my blissful daydreams, sent in the group chat. Eliza and Daniel had peeked in and snapped the shot! My heart sank. Now even my man was in on it, and I could already imagine his smug reply: "Bravo! Is my son in love?"

"Oh my God, not him too!" I groaned, burying my face in my pillow. I felt like the ground should swallow me whole. How was I going to face them now? The embarrassment was unbearable!

As I buried my face deeper into the pillow, I could hear their laughter echoing through the hallway. Frustration bubbled up inside me. I hurled my pillow at the door, shouting, "Get out of here!" The laughter finally stopped, leaving me in the silence of my room.

"Amara, oh Amara, what have you done to me? How did you make such a strong boy so weak?" I sighed, a smile creeping onto my face. I couldn't wait for tomorrow.

I lay back, staring at the ceiling again, my thoughts drifting back to Amara. She was simply too cute and beautiful. Her smile was perfect, and I felt a warmth spreading through me, a mix of excitement and nervousness. I closed my eyes, imagining our day together, the sweetness of pastries, the laughter in the park, and the thrill of biking along the river.

Tomorrow promised adventure, and I was ready to dive in headfirst. Whatever else happened, I knew one thing for sure: I was definitely in love.
