"Okay Lucas today is the day that I'm going to ask Riley to the dance," I said to myself.
I stared at myself in mirror as I repeated this once more.
Riley and I had this thing at the end of seventh grade, but it didn't work out well and we broke up. I think now that we are older we will be able to be in a relationship without things getting awkward.
The first step in beginning a relationship with Riley will be asking her to the dance. Once I get to school I'll hand Riley the roses I bought her and ask her to the dance.
I hope she doesn't say no. Riley's been giving me hints that she still has feelings for me so I'm sure that she will say yes.
-
My heart started beating faster as I walked into school. I can't believe I'm getting nervous over this. Riley is going to say yes I just know it.
I walked over to Riley's locker hoping she would be there, but of course she wasn't. I looked over and Maya was sitting down on the bench looking at her phone.
"Hey Maya do you know where Riley is?"
"Oh hey Huckleberry," she said, without looking up, "She's talking to some new boy Charlie."
My stomach dropped.
I asked, "What are they talking about? What does he want from her?"
"I don't know. Maybe he's asking her to the dance. How am I supposed to know Sundance?"
"I don't like this new guy."
Maya looked up at me for the first time during our conversation. Her eyes looked upon the roses.
"Was someone planning on asking Riley to the dance?" She smirked.
"How do you know that these aren't for Farkle?"
"Farkle does love his roses."
"Hey what's up with you? Normally by now you would be taking ever chance you could to make fun of me."
"Someone of us have to grow up I guess."
"No. Really Maya what's up?"
"I thought that after Josh and I talked things would get better between us and he would ask me to the dance."
Maya's has been chasing after Josh for as long as I've known her. Every time she sees him she expects things to be different, but things never change.
"Maya I don't think you and Josh-"
I was interrupted by Riley walking over to us with a huge smile on her face.
"OMG!" Riley squeaked, "Charlie the super cute new guy just asked me to go to the dance with him."
My heart dropped once again.
"That's so cool!" Maya replied, "He is really cute Riley."
"Yeah. That is super awesome super awesome," I lied.
Riley said, "I know I'm so excited for the dance."
Riley took notice of the roses in my hand and smirked.
Riley asked, "Lucas who are you asking to the dance?"
I thought about saying some random girls name, but instead I went for the girl sitting next to me.
"Maya," I said, "Maya will you go to the dance with me?"
Maya looked at me like I was crazy. Never in a million years did I picture myself asking Maya Hart to the dance.
"Huckleberry what are you doing?" Maya choked out.
Riley was standing in front of us so I had to play it cool.
"Just asking a good friend to the dance," I said with a fake smile.
Maya just kept looking at me like I was insane.
"Maya this is where you say yes," Riley explained, "And then you except the roses he bought for you."
"Um...I guess I'll go with you," Maya stammered.
I handed her the roses, "Great."
The bell rang right after that and the three of us were forced to go to class. I could tell things were going to be awkward throughout class.
-
I waited until everyone left after the bell rang to leave class. I wanted to stay away from Riley and Maya right now.
As I walking out of the room someone grabbed me by my collar and pulled me into a different hallway.
"Ow," I complained:
"Quit your complaining."
It was Maya and she had an angry look on her face.
"What was that little stunt you pulled this morning?"
"I don't know I panicked. When I found out that Riley already had a date it ruined my pain to ask her."
"Why did you tell her I was going with you? I don't even want to go the dance now that Josh isn't going to ask me."
"So how do I explain how I asked you and you said yes, but then I show up without you as my date."
"Simple. I'm not going to the dance so you can tell them I'm sick or that I'm with my family. I really don't care what you tell them as long as they understand that I'm not going with you."
Maya handed me back the roses and started walking away.
"So just to be clear your not going to the dance?" I asked.
Maya yelled, "Come on Sundance your supposed to be smarter than this. I'm not going to the dance."
Well it looks like I'm not going to the dance either .

No need to fear because this one shot had like two or three other parts left.
Also this is kinda what I think happens during the Girl Meets Semi-Formal episode and what I wish would happen during the episode.
