Friendship.

I've known Arsenio for quite some time now.
I know how he manages himself in this life.
We've been friends, yes real friends.

It's hard to find a true friendship in this lifestyle, but I have to say, Arsenio is one of those people I'd take a bullet for.

So seeing him again after so long, it really makes me happy, it's so fun to be around him when he's out of his mood swings.

But now he's not alone, he brought along a little bird.

I was shocked to say the least. The girl whose parents my brother was supposed to protect.
The same girl no one knew where she was.
Yes I knew about her parents needing protection but they never talked about the girl.

I learned about her after Massimo killed Daniel. My brother told me everything after taking care of their bodies. But even then not even him knew where the girl was.

So imagine my shock when Arsenio revealed this, also because of the fact that he's literally obsessed with her.I can see it on his eyes.

" she's my everything" he breathed out.
Nikolai was still stunned. I on the other hand am shocked and happy that this man finally open himself for love. And us, I know it's hard for him to express his feelings.

I nod my head, urging him to continue.

"She's kind, she's sweet.." I could see it on his face he adores her " cazzo she's so fucking selfless, she worries for me and cares..." he runs a hand trough his hair " she makes me feel, she makes me want to be better, for her..."
He trails off.

I frown " what's wrong?" I asked him.

" I'm...cazzo I'm scared" he confessed.
"Never in my life I felt this, I never thought I'd be waking up next to someone so pure...every fucking day I worry that something would happened..."

Well he's down bad.

"Whenever I have to leave, she worries- she always tells me to be careful and to be safe"
I couldn't believe it, I could see Arsenios eyes turn a bit glossy.

"And I always tell her that I'll be fine, I have to reassure her that I will come back, when in reality I don't even know if I'll make it out alive..." he sights standing up serving himself another drink.

"Back in Italy no one knew about her, she wasn't even allowed to go out the mansion."
He downs the liquid in one go, then serves himself more.

He's drinking his feelings.he always does it when he becomes emotional, it's a rare sight.
But I know better than stop him, he needs this.

"Being here...with me, it will make her a target"
He sits back down.
"That's why I need you to protect her" he looks at me, fighting back the tears "I can't let anything happen to her, she's everything I have, I refused to lose her" pain evident in each word.

" Moretti betrayed Severino" he states
" we heard" Nikolai gives him a moment to breath.
Arsenio nod his head " then you know shits about to go down, Severino is old and has become irrational, however he reacts it will affect all of us"

I nod my head, " we all been waiting to know how long he'll take to react" I tell him, the mood shifting.

"I don't care" his tone firm " that's part of the reason I ask you of this, i want her to have a life, as normal as it can get, I don't want her to feel trap" his words filled with concern.

"She can't go from one gilded cage to another" Nikolai asserts and I nod.

"No"

"I'll make sure to put my best man for the job and some patrol when she's out and about"
Arsenio just nods his head agreeing with me.

"Just make it discreet, I don't want her to feel suffocated" at his request my heart warms.

Arsenio is a man known for his cruelness, everyone always stand on their tip toes when he's around, careful not to get on his bad side.
It's quite easy he doesn't even like to be touch.

I knew he had feelings, after all we met in a very disturbing matter.
I know there is a heart underneath that hard cold ruthless carcass he build all these years.
And it truly makes me happy knowing there is someone that loves him, someone that cares.

Besides me that for sure, I'm just the best friend.

"I give you my word Arsenio, I'll protect her"

"You better"
