Kenan grinned, looking just as ever. "Just wanted a quiet meal. Been traveling a lot lately, so it's nice to sit down and enjoy a meal with a friend."

"So are you both visiting Italy?" Kenan said.

"Yeah," I said, finding my voice. "Just a vacation. We're exploring Florence."

"It's a beautiful city," he said. "One of my favorites. Have you been to Piazzale Michelangelo yet?"

"Not yet," I admitted.

"You should," he said. "The view is incredible."

For a moment, we just stood here, his green eyes meeting mine. Then he glanced at the TV where the match was still playing and laughed softly. "Looks like they're doing fine without me tonight."

I couldn't help but laugh too, the tension easing just slightly.

Then he reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. "Here," he said, unlocking it and handing it to me. "Put your number in. I can recommend some places for you to visit."

I blinked, stunned. "Oh, um, sure."

As I typed in my number, Madelyn nudged me under the table, her grin practically splitting her face. I handed his phone back, trying to steady my trembling hands.

"It was nice meeting you," he said, his smile softening. "Enjoy your stay in Florence. I'll text you some recommendations."

"Thank you," I managed, my voice barely above a whisper.

With a final nod, he walked back to his table, leaving me and Madelyn sitting in stunned silence.

"Did that just happen?" I asked, staring at the spot where he'd stood.

Madelyn laughed. "Oh, it happened. And now you have Kenan Yildiz's number. You're welcome."

I couldn't help but smile, my heart still racing. Maybe this trip to Italy was going to be more memorable than I'd ever imagined.
