Y/n's POV:
I couldn't believe how easy it was to talk to him. He didn't seem like the famous footballer I'd always admired. He seemed... normal. Kind.
"So," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "Do you bring all your fans here, or am I special?"
He laughed, and the sound made my heart skip a beat.
"Only the ones who don't run away after saying hello," he teased.
I groaned, hiding my face in my hands. "I'm never going to live that down, am I?"
"Nope," he said, grinning. "But for what it's worth, I'm glad you stayed."
His words hung in the air, making my cheeks warm. I glanced at him, and for a moment, our eyes met. The world around us seemed to fade, the distant sounds of the city muffled by the rapid thud of my heartbeat.
"Me too," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
Kenan's POV
There was something in her eyes—a mix of nervousness and honesty—that pulled me in. She wasn't like anyone I'd met before. She didn't treat me like a celebrity or try to impress me. She was just... her.
"I'm glad," I said quietly.
The sun dipped lower, casting a golden glow over the city. I wanted to tell her more, ask her more, but I also didn't want to rush things.
"So," I said, breaking the moment, "what else are you planning to do in Florence?"
She hesitated, a small smile tugging at her lips. "Actually, I'm heading to Turin tomorrow."
My eyebrows lifted in surprise. "Turin?"
"Yeah," she said, glancing at me shyly. "Madelyn and I are going to the Juventus match."
My heart skipped a beat, and I couldn't stop the grin spreading across my face. "You're coming to the match?"
"Well, yeah," she said, her voice suddenly nervous. "We planned it before, um... before meeting you. It's kind of a coincidence."
I couldn't help but laugh. "A coincidence? Or are you just my most dedicated fan?"
Her face turned bright red, and she groaned, hiding her face in her hands. "You're never going to let me live that down, are you?"
"Nope," I teased. "But now I know I'll have at least one fan in the stands tomorrow."
Y/n's POV
I couldn't believe I'd just admitted that to him. The one thing I'd been trying not to bring up—the fact that I was a huge fan of his—and I'd blurted it out like a fool.
"I'll cheer extra loud," I joked, trying to recover from my embarrassment.
"I'll hold you to that," he said, his grin softening into something gentler. "Do you have good seats?"
"Pretty good, I think," I said. "Madelyn, insisted on getting close to the action. She's the one who got me into football, actually."
"I'll look out for you," he said, his voice light but sincere. "Maybe you'll bring me luck."
The thought of him looking for me in the crowd made my heart race.
Kenan's POV
She was blushing again, her fingers fiddling with the strap of her bag. It was hard not to smile at how genuine she was.
"Since you'll be at the match tomorrow," I said, "you'll have to let me know what you think of it after. Honest feedback."
"I'm sure it'll be amazing," she said, her voice firm despite the nervousness in her eyes.
"I'll try not to disappoint," I said with a smirk.
The sun dipped lower, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink. I didn't want the evening to end, but I knew I needed to rest for the match tomorrow. Still, part of me wanted to keep talking to her, to learn more about her and the way she saw the world.
"So," I said, breaking the quiet, "do you like gelato? There's a place nearby that's the best in Florence. We could grab some before you head back."
Her face lit up, and the sight made something in my chest tighten.
"Gelato sounds perfect," she said.
As we walked away from the overlook, the city glowing around us, I couldn't help but feel a quiet sense of anticipation. Tomorrow, I'd be on the pitch, doing what I love the most. But tonight, I'd found something unexpected—something that made me want to keep this moment alive for as long as I could.
