Composing myself, I walked out the tent, joining rest of the fam. After taking food in disposable plates, they went and sat on the wood logs by the bonfire again. The fire had started to simmer down now.

I added some food to my plate as well and sat at the same spot where I was sitting previously.

Everyone was laughing away the night. It felt extremely rejuvenating to be sharing this time with the people I cherish the most. Not him though.

I was excited to come to this trip just for this reason, to catch up on this precious time that I had lost with all these people. The joy of being around them is totally unmatched. Even the luxuries of Paris would fall dull in front of this.

The warmth of fire was reaching me as I ate but a different kind of heat took over me when I lifted my eyes form the plate to glance at him. The warm tones of fire were allowing him to glow under this dark night. He was busy eating, and I was busy beholding his sight.

I guess he sensed me looking at him, so he lifted his gaze from the plate. Our eyes locked and a rush of warmth engulfed me. I can't let him have such effect on me though. I can't let him have this power over me. Never.

When the hate resurfaced, I shifted my focus back on eating. As we finished, we discarded away the plates in a huge garbage bag.

The parents went to one of the tents to have some bonding time. I went to my tent and turned the lamp on, letting the darkness get replaced by some bright light. Putting my reading glasses on, I took a book out of my bag and sat on the mat in silence trying to get some reading done. My peace was soon disrupted by an intrusion by Kesh and Kavya.

"Yahvi yaar," Kavya snatched the book out of my hand. "Stop being so boring and let's go have some fun. You can do all this at home too."

"Come one Kavu, let me be na," I whined.

"Nope." She pulled on my arm to get me on my feet. I took my glasses off, putting them back in the cover.

"Fine. What do we do?"

"Let's go to Ej bhiaya's tent."

"No way, I'm not going," I protested. I have seen him enough for the day.

"Come na. It'll be fun," she dragged me behind her, out the tent towards his. I guess I have no choice now.

"Bhai," Kesh shouted barging in. He was initially laying down, but he sat up as we walked in. "Bhai, we didn't come here to sleep. Let's do something."

We all sat on the ground, forming a circle. On my one side was Kesh and on the other side was Ejaaz with Kavya sitting opposite to me.

"Kesh go and get some rest," he asserted.

"Why are you so boring bhai?" Kesh sulked.

"I know bhaiya come on let's do something. It's not every day that we get to hang out together," Kavya proposed. "How about we share stories from our childhood times?"
