i couldn't help but stare at him in shock. after the whole thing registered, i turn around and bury my face into the sheets. my entire face is pink. a hot, burning pink.
"ah, dani-chan.." he quickly tries to pull me out of the covers. "it's okay!"
i shake my head, stubbornly refusing to face noah after what was revealed.
"n-no way..!" i whine out, still nestled into the white bed.
after another while of trying to get me to face him, he lets out a defeated sigh. noah lets go, sitting back into his guest chair.
"... if anything, it's the same for me, too....." he mumbled.
my head slowly turns... wanting to know if i had heard that right. "huh?" i see his face. he's so flustered- noah's face at this moment is the embodiment of embarrassment.
my heart flutters even more in my chest. "w..what do you mean, noah-senpai..?"
he hesitantly looked back at me from his fingers. you could tell the boy wanted to respond, but physically couldn't. i give him a gentle look of genuine interest, really wanting to talk about the feelings he has. my face wasn't subtle in the slightest, almost as rosy as his. noah then took a soft breath.
"... the nurse told me that she's surprised i hadn't fainted, too....." he blushes even more. "considering that my heart was also racing with the exact same feeling.. as yours."

"w..what..?" my eyes widen.
noah bit back another whimper of embarrassment, before leaning in gently squeezing my hand.
"dani-chan...." he said softly. "... you're my soulmate, right..?"
it felt like my heart was about to burst.
"n..noah-senpai..?" my eyes water. the fortune teller was right... kawaii-highschool was where i'd find my soulmate- my senpai. the one who i have longed for.
i couldn't say another word before he pulled me into an embrace, hugging me as he gently stroked my head.
"... i've finally met you.... dani-chan...."
