The young woman winced when she accidentally stepped on a shard of glass. "What the fuck!" She yelled, picking it out and peeking out of the room. Diego was running toward her. "Diego-" she got cut off when he grabbed her arm, pulling her behind him. Two people in animal helmets were running after them with guns. Diego picked up Alora and threw her over the balcony onto the couch. She landed with a thump and got up before he jumped after her.
They hid behind one of the couches and Alora saw a portrait of their father, five bullets making holes in the canvas. Diego tensed when he heard footsteps coming down the stairs and into the living room. He grabbed his sister, pulling her close to him, accidentally bumping a side table and almost immediately, bullets were firing in their direction. The two held their ears and slouched down, trying not to get shot.
The gunfire suddenly stopped and Alora heard a grunt and a body behind thrown across the room. Luther. The two behind the couch waited a few seconds before they heard Allison's yell as she kicked the gun out of the larger man's hands. Alora crawled to a different spot as Diego peeked over the couch.
The masked man grabbed Allison by the neck and started to choke her. Diego jumped up, running over and kicking and punching the man. It didn't really work. Alora stood up and spied a vase. Luther ran in and picked up the man and threw him into the entrance hall. Alora threw the vase and it hit Luther in the back. He turned and looked at her. "Whoops." She winced. "Sorry."
"Who the hell are these guys?" Allison panted, regaining her breath.
"You're welcome." Luther scoffed at Diego.
"I was doing fine." Diego breathed.
"You really weren't." Alora mumbled.
"Oh, so you're on his side now?" Diego asked.
"No! I'm not on his side." She said. The man in the pink mask started to shoot at them again and they all ran out the room.
Alora ran up the stairs, and down one of the many passageways they had in the giant house. "Shit." She whispered when she remembered Klaus was still in the bathroom. She ran into the tiled room and saw no Klaus. Just a full bath of bubbles. "Klaus?" She whisper-shouted, not wanting to draw the gunmen's attention to her. She ran into the kitchen, almost running into the back of Diego.
She peeked over his shoulder and saw Allison fighting the man in the pink mask. The man kicked her into the table and she grunted. Diego whistled, stepping up to fight the man. He got some blows, before the man threw him into the foosball table. Diego pulled one of the sticks out and challenged the masked man again. Alora stood there at the doorway, watching. One half of her mind was on the fight, the other on her brother.
She decided that these two probably had it covered because she silently wished them luck and ran up the stairs to look for Klaus again. She ran across the upper level, but stopped when she saw Luther on the floor. The girl ran back down the stairs and stood next to him.
"Luther!" Allison yelled when she saw him, walking in with Diego. She rushed to his side and they all helped him up. "Luther, get up."
"Ah, you gotta cut down on that fast food, soldier." Diego grunted and Alora snorted.
They heard a loud clang and Luther pushed them all away as the chandelier fell to the ground, on top of him. "Oh my god!" Alora screamed, stepping away from the smashed glass and metal. She, Allison and Diego all watched in disbelief and alarm as Luther stood up. His shirt ripped and fell to the floor, revealing a hairy, monkey-like torso.
"Holy shit." Diego whispered. Alora hit his chest. They all stood there in silence and only then did Alora notice Vanya standing at the doorway of the living room, blood on her forehead. Luther ran upstairs in shame.
Allison stood there in shock before walking over to Vanya, who asked, "did you know?"
"No." She replied, shaking her head.
Diego paused when he heard Grace humming from upstairs. "Shit, mom." He ran up and to the left stairwell go check on her.
"Shit," Alora looked up. "Klaus." She ran upstairs to the right, to the bedrooms. She opened Diego's door, "Klaus?" Nothing. She went to Allison's room. "Klaus!" She groaned, slamming the door shut. "Bastard! Klaus!" She ran upstairs to Five's room, checked Klaus' own room, the bathroom, kitchen, Vanya's room and her own. She closed the door, sitting on her bed. "Where are you?" She whispered to the air around her.
The 'young' girl looked down at the broken jar on her floor, the grey water staining the carpet. She groaned and flopped back onto her bed, falling asleep.
