His Scent

I followed the sweet trail hoping it led to you,
My heart yearning for just another whiff.
The same person who used to say I love you too,
But then left me broken and stiff.
How your hugs filled me up,
My walls crumbling into your arms.
Now I chase after your perfume
In an attempt to feel you again.

I turn around but it's not you,
How dare they smell like you too!
Even with her, her leather jacket and fur,
Nothing can stop the faint linger.
I take deep breaths so the moment never ends,
I run around every bend inhaling your scent.
So just one last time I can feel your embrace,
But this time It's me who will leave you without a trace.
