I raised an eyebrow as I recognised the voice of the speaker.
"Hello? Who is this?" I chirped.
"Is this Winter Bloom? I am doctor Charles Green from Oasis Healthcare."
"Ah yes, I am Winter Bloom, is there any update from the last test?"
There was a sudden silence in the call. My pulse hammered against my throat as the nervousness got to me.
"Sorry, I was caught in a moment there, about your results.... I am afraid I have the same- bad news." My eyes widened and my body froze.
Oh no...
"According to the reports, the cancer cells are not increasing but they aren't going away either."
Suddenly my vision got blurry from the sudden unshed tears but I quickly blinked them away but a sniffle escapes my mouth. It's always has been hopeless. Thank god Anvita is not here cuz I would 've just broke down just from seeing her worried, soft expression, but- at the same time I want her here to comfort me, hug me, and tell me that I was gonna survive.
"Miss Bloom?" The doctor's voice soft voice snapped me back to reality.
His sudden softness in his voice suddenly made me realized my quiet sniffles weren't 'that' quiet
I cleared my dry throat. "Uhm- Sorry- yes, *sniffles* please continue...." I murmured as I rubbed my red runny nose. I glanced up from the phone's screen only to see that were probably staring at me look away awkwardly, but- I was too emotional to care.
Dr. Green continued. "Actually, there is a treatment which will allow us to destroy the cancer cells manuals. But it would require you to be admitted in the hospital... for about- hmm, 10 weeks? Or probably more than that, and the success rate is only 20 or 30 percent chance, it is up to you though. If you wish to take it."
I blinked a bit at the sound of his offer before letting out a sigh of relief.
"I'll be confirming the deal by evening, I hope you're not that busy?" I asked.
"If I don't pick up the call, please feel free to message me." He said in a polite tone.
"Alright. Thank-you for informing, Dr. Green." I breathed.
I can feel his polite smile through the screen. "No problem and you're welcome. Oh and- please take of yourself Winter Bloom."
I smiled. "I will."
"Very well. I hope you have a good day." With that he hung up.
I placed my phone on my table before letting out a soft sigh and leaning against my chair.
I don't why people call me 'angel' when I am clearly god's unfavorite child.
I took a tissue from the table and blew my nose and my order came just right in.
Wow what great timing. Ugh.
I quickly adjusted my smile and flashed the employee a beaming smile. "Thank you." I chirped as he placed my strawberry latte on the table.
He smiled back in a shy kind of way and I could see a red tint forming on his cheeks. Oh.
He gave a small polite curt before walking away. I grabbed the drink and something was written over it.

A genuine smile spreads across my lips.
Aww.. how sweet of him.
I take a sip before a 'ding!' sound catches my attention. It came from my phone.
I grab it and there was a notification, from Anvita.
I smiled at the screen before setting it down.
For now.
I am-
