"Heatwave, take Cody and leave with your team. Head to the hideout. Now." Chief Burns commanded.

It had been coming for them. For the Burns family. The FBI coming for them to arrest them with a police force from the nearest town in Maine. At least they found out quick enough and were actually able to run and hide. Although Cody was fighting and screaming the entire time. He didn't want to abandon his siblings.

"Sir, are you sure?" Chase had asked. But his question was turned down as the eldest Burns children and their father stood behind the main garage door and faced it, waiting. Heatwave didn't want to look. He didn't want to see the team he had worked by for 5 years being so suddenly ripped away. It left his spark throbbing. He truly didn't want to leave them. But his team needed him. And who knew what the government would do?

"Heatwave, are you going to go with them?" Chief then asked. Asked almost fifteen minutes after Heatwaves own team had gone down the tunnels to escape. He debated his options but eventually hung his helm with a sigh.

He begrudgingly nodded.

"I don't want to sir, but I need to. If not for myself than my team and Cody." He paused to reset his vocalizer, static having slowly started pouring into his words. "I promise you I'll keep him safe." He finished softly. He knew they, the ones that had come to take this innocent family away, were here. They were here to arrest them and place them before a judge to decide their fate. Pray to Primus and hope that justice was fair. Because sometimes it wasn't. Sometimes those that truly didn't do a thing were placed before the one that decided if they should be locked up behind bars.

"Thank you Heatwave. Even if I never see you again I have to say thank you. Thank you for taking care of my son for me when I can't." Chief whispered. Heatwave hated seeing the tears in the older man's eyes glisten.

Because it signaled this was most likely the end. The end that everyone had feared ever since that day Sammy had arrived. Was it really not even a month ago? Yes Heatwave, yes it was. Not even a month later and you were heading in a different direction than the humans that taught your team so much. Don't forget them Heatwave. You'll need it in the future.

Heatwave nodded once, sending a rare but genuine smile at the four before him before turning. He walked away as quietly as he could and stifled the first sob of many. He paused before the tunnel, going silent to listen to everything upstairs.

"OPEN UP!"

One loud shout.

He could hear Dani let out a choked sob. She was terrified.

"Charlie Burns, you and your family are under arrest."

Kade let out a cough to hide his sob. Not even the magnificent Kade was spared. It made Heatwaves spark contract in his chassis.

"I understand sir." Charlie replied.

The jingle of cuffs was faint but he heard them nonetheless. And of course he accepted the fact that these were the last things he would ever hear from them. He turned and continued walking into that tunnel that he had to block. Had to leave no evidence behind. He was the one that had to make sure none of them would be tracked down... and he was determined to not fail at his task.

Chase held Cody in his servos watching the cave. He hoped Heatwave hadn't gotten himself caught. He really didn't need that sparkache right then and there. But before his thoughts could wander long enough Heatwave was walking out of the tunnel. He was covered in dirt but that was okay. It just showed he did his end of the deal they had made with Chief Burns before everything went down.

"The cave is blocked off. I would say we have approximately 2 hours before they notice that we aren't there and that they didn't take Cody in." Heatwave announced. It seemed like only Chase was there but he could see Blades and Boulder in the distance. They were still walking. Probably just wanted to get to safety. He couldn't blame them though. After all of this, who didn't want to just leave and forget any of this happened.
