Dilemma

Gongenzaka texted Yuya later that evening as Yuya was heading to bed. By then all the courage the tomato had worked up to tell him had gone, and he was a ball of nerves once more.

Gongenzaka: Yuya what was it you were going to say before Yuri dragged you away?

Yuya: Oh, I uh...

Yuya: I forgot?

Gongenzaka: Oh, well, if you remember you can always text me

Yuya: I know. I'll tell you if I remember

Gongenzaka: Alright, don't stay up too late. Goodnight Yuya!

Yuya: Goodnight, Gon!

Gongenzaka sighed as he put his phone up. Yuya was a terrible liar, even over text. It was obvious that he hadn't actually forgotten, but clearly he didn't want to talk about it. Gongenzaka wondered if it had anything to do with what they'd been discussing at the time, about how Yuri was blackmailing Yuya into confessing to his crush. Maybe Yuya had wanted to tell him who his crush was, or ask for advice on how to tell them.

The thought Yuya's crush might've even been him flickered through Gongenzaka's mind, but he chased it away. He didn't want to get his hopes up, especially if it turned out Yuya liked someone else. But now he wondered if he should tell Yuya about his own feelings when he gave him the gift. He didn't want to make Yuya feel awkward about it.

Ah, this was such a dilemma!
