Regina and Emma uses their magic and turns it into a stuffed monkey, which Regina hands to Robin's son. Belle says she's read about the only land that has winged monkeys, and that the realm is called: Oz, and it is most likely that the one now occupying the castle is none other than the Wicked Witch of the West. However, Robin decides he's going to tag along anyway as a way to thank Regina for saving his son. Meanwhile long ago in Oz, Zelena searches for the runaway Dorothy and finds that Dorothy has recently left a village. Zelena offers the munchkins gold for information on Dorothy, whom she denounces as the murderer of the wizard of oz, but they remain silent. Zelena orders all the munchkins killed. She does a shape-shifting spell. she is transformed into an old peasant. She will be unable to use her own magic while under the spell, but she plans to get close enough to Dorothy to murder her with her own hands, and then cast herself as a hero instead of the "Wicked Witch" her subjects call her. In Emerald City, Zelena is unable to contain her anger at seeing the public defacement of an effigy of herself;  mocked as a madwoman when she proclaims herself the witch, the emerald guards take her to be beheaded. Dorothy appears and rescues her from the chopping block, taking her to a hideout to nurse her injuries. Zelena asks why Dorothy, a known runaway, would risk her own life to help her, a stranger. Dorothy explains that a stranger married her father when she was a little girl and that made her happy, and that two people can form a true connection through kindness. At Zelena's prompting, Dorothy also speaks of Zelena as they move within the golden break road, saying that if Zelena were truly repentant and wanted to be a family, Dorothy could forgive her for sending the Huntsman after her. But when they come to the massacred village, Dorothy declares that there is no good in Zelena and her crimes are unforgivable. Zelena reminds Dorothy that Zelena took her in the Emerald city, a connection Dorothy never revealed, leading Dorothy to recognize Zelena. Dorothy takes a sword but does not attack as Zelena flees. Than Zelena comes to the palace, She embraces her identity as the "Wicked Witch." End of Flashback
