It happened completely unexpectedly. And yet it is so. The Shocho of the Moon, Kurai Nizaki, is dead. This meant that Kemuri was now officially recognized as the Shocho of the Oniis, but it was still incredibly sad. Kurai had been nice, a nice, good person, like a big brother to most people - and now he's dead.

His three enjo-sha were also dead. Otherwise, kemuri would have gotten her as an official successor.
Ayumi and luke were not present at the ceremony. Probably Kyojin was glad about that, because he had almost cried himself to death, because he had loved kurai very much. He certainly didn't want a loser like luke to watch him cry.
Harumi was also very sad. Hibiki had just cried along because he always cries along (he didn't even know kurai). Kemuri felt a similar pain as kyojin, she loved kurai as her last teacher like a brother.
