So it was the last day of the registration week, and to be honest with you, I already felt like I might not even remember a lot of my classmates by name and all. There's just too many of us. In high school it was easier, because we were a small amount. Will I be able to make friends here? I honestly don't know.
According to the schedule, I'm supposed be at the main building by 8 am. Well, here I am, but not a single soul in sight. I double check my schedule, but I didn't seem to misunderstand anything. Weird.
I waited for a minutes and suddenly I noticed someone talking to a teacher.Stella: Excuse me, my schedule says that I'm supposed to be in this building, but I haven't found anyone yet.
I think I can recognize that voice. I walk closer to them and sure enough, it's Stella, the cheerful stego I saw first day. I guess I really am not the only one who doesn't know what's going.
Teacher: Oh, that actually got cancelled, you need to go to building K for the rest of the presentations.
I was standing next to the stego at this point, nodding to what the teacher told us. No-one bothered to tell us this? I felt pretty annoyed, especially since when I asked a classmate about the schedule, there wasn't any cancellation mentioned. With that the two of us headed to building K.
Stella: I assume you didn't know about this either.
Me: Nope. Quite annoying, because I hurried here.
Stella: Oh, btw, you're Jonathan, right?
Me: Yes, that's me.
Stella: You were standing next to me in that minigame. Honestly I was shocked to find out we have similar interests.
Stella was smiling while saying that, her tail wiggling fast. I remembered that day, and I also remembered that big smile on her face at the time. Suddenly I got reminded of how sad she was when the classmates mocked her over her interests. I feel kinda guilty not stepping.
Me: Are you feeling better since?
Stella: Huh, what do you mean?
Me: I saw you were sad about people calling you a weeb.
Stella: Oh, that...
Her smile faded into a bit of sadness. Probably I shouldn't have brought that up, I dunno what I was thinking.
Me: I-I think it's cute actually. Being so passionate about something. I actually hide it myself, but...I'm into anime too.
I saw her look very excited as I said that. Did I turn her fangirl mode on? Well, I mean it's better than have someone sad, right?
Stella: REALLY?! ARE YOU INTO YU-GI-OH, SAO AND THE LIKES?!
Me: I do like Yu-Gi-Oh...well, Duel Monsters to be specific, but I'm mostly into slice of life animes.
Stella: We should totally binge an anime sometime!
I like her enthusiasm. Well, let's see. Not like I have any plans for the weekend, maybe I can suggest that to her.
Me: Sure, would this weekend work for you?
Stella: That'd be amazing, I'd love that!
Me: Alright. Don't think I have you as friend on Snootbook yet.
Stella: I'll help you with finding me.
She takes my phone and begins searching for herself on Snootbook before sending a friend request to herself.
Stella: Here you go!
She gave my phone back. We finally arrived to the building and we started looking at the classroom we were supposed to go to. There I apologized for being late and sat down on a free seat. Stella decided to sit next to me. You'd think it's weird, but I mean I guess she's a friend now, so makes sense. During the presentations she decided to show me some of her favourite characters, heck, showed me some of her cosplays too. Never met anyone this passionate about something they loved.
This day has gone by pretty fast too, but unlike other days, I think I enjoyed this a lot more. I mean I finally found a friend, no longer having to think I would have to get through these days alone. I'm looking forward to the weekend now.
