I took a glimpse and stared at the culprit, incredulous. "Anabelle!!!" I exclaimed.

Dustin's eyes widened in shock. "Anabelle!!!"

The woman's eyes blazed with malice. "Yes, I'm the culprit. Surprised? Let me go!" she spat, struggling to break free.

I took a step forward, my voice shaking. "What did I ever do to you?"

Anabelle's face twisted in a snarl. "Is that supposed to even be a question! You stole the love of my life away. Dustin and I knew each other since childhood, until you came along. Then he fell in love with you. You cheap fool. Dustin left me for you. Of course I had to be friends with you to know what Dustin saw in you that he doesn't see in me."

The room fell silent, shocked by her confession.

She continued, her voice dripping with venom. "I was the one who spiked Dustin's drink five years ago for us to get intimate with each other, two nights before your wedding. I made sure we were caught, knowing it would break your heart and make you end things with him. You fool! You fell for it."

Dustin's face darkened, his eyes flashing with anger.

Anabelle's voice rose, her words tumbling out in a frantic rush. "After cutting ties with us, I realized Dustin had only me by his side but he wouldn't stop feeling guilty and kept on blabbering about you all the time. The moment he heard you were coming to Hawaii, he planned on how to get to meet you for one more time. I tried to talk him out of it although he wouldn't listen. That was when I knew I had to eliminate you by all means. I was the one who orchestrated the accident. I thought you would have died, but you didn't. You even accepted Dustin back after everything! My whole plan seemed to be crashing. That when I knew I had to follow you both here to New York to finally eliminate you." Anabelle ranting out disgusting words.

My eyes welled up with tears as I walked up to Anabelle and slapped her across the face.

"How could you be so cruel, Anabelle?" I demanded. "All in the name of love?"

Dustin's voice was cold, detached. "You don't deserve neither Britney's friendship nor my love."

Just then someone had already called for an ambulance and it took Alexander away. Thank goodness he was still conscious aside the fact he had lost so much blood.

Anabelle's face crumpled, her eyes pleading. "No, Dustin! You can't say that now. Do you know how much I sacrificed for this love to work? It can never be over just like that."

Dustin's expression hardened. "I don't even know if I still wish you to live after your confession."

Anabelle's voice rose to a frantic pitch. "I'll change, I promise! Just love me, please, Dustin!"

My dad intervened, his voice firm. "I've called the cops. They'll be here in a minute."

As the cops arrived, Anabelle's demeanor shifted from desperation to fury.

"You haven't seen the last of me, Britney!" she screamed, struggling against the officers. "I'll make sure you find no peace in this life!"

The police dragged her away, her cries echoing through the night.
