It’s been so long
Since I let you go,
Yet your shadow lingers,
And I still care, you know.
I let you go,
Fearing I’d hinder your dream.
Back then, your happiness
Was my only theme.
But life, in its twist,
Led me to that same dream.
Now I’ve let you go,
Yet I silently scream—
Did I let go of someone too rare?
Someone I loved beyond compare?
Yes, it was love
That made me let you go.
A love so pure
You may never know.
And so I wonder,
Will our paths entwine?
But I silence this hope,
It’s no longer mine.
Too late, perhaps,
For me to try.
Too far you’ve gone,
Out of my sky.
