Rex, a big golden retriever, had one rule: no cats allowed in his yard. "They're sneaky," he told himself, barking at every feline that dared to pass.

But one cold winter morning, Rex found a tiny kitten curled up near the fence. She was shivering, her fur damp from the frost.

"Go away," Rex growled.

The kitten opened her eyes, looking too tired to move. Rex sighed. "Fine, you can stay—just for today."

He carried the kitten inside his doghouse, sharing his blanket and even a piece of his favorite bone. The kitten purred softly, warming up.

Over the next few days, Rex discovered something surprising: the kitten wasn't sneaky at all. She was playful, cuddly, and even helped him chase away squirrels.

When her owner finally came to claim her, Rex felt a pang of sadness. But he realized something important: not all cats were bad, and some could even become friends.
