"i wish that straight and narrow wasn't so damn hard to walk, and I could call the man upstairs every time I need to talk. i wish close friends would stay close and hometowns would stay home and I could shake the dust off every time that I fall, but don't we all?

THEY GAINED SPEED as they drove further from the tornado, which looked like a huge grey cloud swirling behind them in the rear view mirror. As she passed Javi's truck, he looked at them while Lily looked over at him. She mouthed 'I love you' to him before they sped in front of him, trying to make it to the town with enough time to help everyone.

Tyler stopped the truck along a crowded road with people running in all directions. Lily got out in a hurry, Tyler and Kate already standing in the road. The wind blew her hair harshly and she turned around and the sight before her made her blood run cold. The tornado was coming closer, and it wasn't stopping. Lily heard a loud rustle behind her and she ducked with a shriek as a yellow canopy blew right over where they were standing.

"Guys come on, we gotta go." Kate turned around and started running, Lily and Tyler following in her tracks. As they got to main street, hundreds of people were running, some people were trying to save their business, and even more people were getting in cars to try to escape the death trap. Everywhere they looked there were countless canopy's set up.

"Guys," Lily heard the shout and quickly turned her head to find Dexter looking over at them. "Shelters are all full! We got to get everyone into the movie theater." Lily turned around frantically, running up a family to try to get them to go the right way.

"Hey you guys, go to the movie theater. Hurry! Run." She grabbed the moms arm as they all looked at her with fear coated over their faces. They instantly reacted to her words as the mom grabbed her daughter and the dad grabbed his sons, sprinting over to where the movie theater was located.

She spotted business owners trying to hold their canopy up, she ran to an old woman and shouted at her to leave the stuff there and to run to the theater. She didn't want to go but after Lily continued to yell at her she gave up and followed everyone else to their destination.

"Everyone get inside! Please everyone get inside right now!" She kept yelling until she felt like her lungs were going to collapse. She couldn't save everyone, she knew that. But at least she saved at least a hundred lives, right?

Debris and cars and anything possible were seen floating in the air, it seemed surreal that anything could be that powerful. Lily watched as the cable car got sucked into the winds, going fast on the tracks to meet the tornado halfway. She didn't notice that Tyler had been right in the way of it until she heard a loud scream come from his lips.

"Tyler!" She shouted as she sprinted towards where she heard the sound, Kate following behind her. What she saw before her made her heart race and alarm clouded her vision. A huge piece of wood, probably one that covered a roof, was crushing Tyler's leg under it, the pressure even greater because it was also under the cable car as well.
