The next morning, sunlight streamed through the curtains of Sunoo's apartment, filling the space with a warm golden hue. Luni had claimed her usual spot atop Sunoo's blanket, purring contentedly.
Seol-ya, buried under a pile of blankets on the floor, let out a muffled groan. "Why is it so bright?" she complained, tugging a pillow over her head.
Sunoo, already dressed in a yellow apron, peeked over from the kitchen. "It's ten-thirty, Seol-ya. Time to wake up! I made pancakes."
Seol-ya squinted at him from her cocoon. "You cooked? Are we safe, or should I call the fire department?"
Sunoo huffed dramatically, placing a plate on the table. "Rude! I happen to be a pancake virtuoso."
She dragged herself to the table, skeptical. One bite later, her expression shifted to surprise. "Okay, fine. These are really good."
"Thank you," Sunoo said, beaming as he joined her. "I'm full of surprises."
"Sure, surprises like not burning the house down," Seol-ya teased, earning a playful glare from her brother.

After breakfast, they tidied up the apartment. Sunoo buzzed with energy as he talked about his upcoming projects. "I'm thinking floral embroidery for my blazer," he mused, holding up an imaginary needle and thread. "Delicate, but bold. Eye-catching, but classy."
"Sounds very you," Seol-ya said, folding a blanket.
"Exactly." Sunoo grinned, grabbing a broom. "Anyway, you'd better get going before Seoul traffic traps you."
Seol-ya slipped on her coat, her car keys jingling in her hand. She paused at the door, giving him a fond smile. "Take care of yourself, okay? And don't let that Riki kid get away. He's cute."
Sunoo froze, his cheeks going red. "Seol! Stop!"
"What?" she said innocently, pulling him into a hug. "I'm just saying. Life's too short to miss out on good things."
"You're impossible," Sunoo mumbled, but his lips twitched into a smile.
Seol-ya laughed as she walked to her car. Rolling down the window, she called, "Text me updates—on Luni and your love life!"
"Drive safe!" Sunoo shouted back, avoiding the last part entirely.
Once her car disappeared down the street, the apartment felt quieter. Sunoo stood for a moment, the crisp autumn air ruffling his hair. Though he missed her already, he felt a burst of motivation.
"Okay, Luni," he said, scooping up the cat as he walked back inside. "It's just us now. Let's get to work."
By mid-morning, his sketchbook was full of designs, and fabric swatches covered the table. Ideas came easily, his creativity bubbling over into the small but chaotic workspace.
By mid-afternoon, he decided it was time for a break. Grabbing his scarf and coat, he headed to the nearby park. The fresh air cleared his mind, but as he walked, a familiar thought crept in: I wonder what Riki's up to.
Sunoo smiled to himself, brushing the thought away. Maybe he'd run into Riki at the bus stop again—assuming Riki's car wasn't fixed yet.
That idea made his cheeks flush, but he shook his head, dismissing the feeling. "Focus, Sunoo," he muttered, kicking at a pile of leaves as he strolled on.
