Napatayo ako sa kama ko nang mabasa ang chat ni Erich sa GC namin. It was already evening. Kakatapos lang naming mag-dinner ni Chad. Kanina pa akong naka-uwi mula sa gala namin ni Benjamin... kaya bakit ngayon lang nag-chat si Erich?

At paano niya kami nakita?! Hindi ko man lang siya napansing nandoon sila!

Oh my gosh.

I suddenly remembered what happened earlier.

"I assume we're friends by this time?" Benj asked.

"Yeah, friends, whatever."

"What if..." he trailed off.

I rolled my eyes at how long it took him to finish his sentence. And then he laughed at my reaction.

"What if I tell you that I don't want us just to be friends? I want more than that."

I suddenly stopped sipping my drink. I got the chance to stare at him, and he stared back at me. There was a ghost of a smile on his lips. How can he smile while I'm so nervous?! And what did he mean by his question, huh?

Hindi dahil alam ko na ang halos kalahati ng buhay niya ay papairalin niya ulit ang pagiging malandi niya! He told me random things about himself. Like his favorite food, color, his hobbies, names of his cats, and many more. Kaunting panahon pa siguro, alam ko na ang buong pagkatao niya.

But my mouth betrayed me.

"Then court me."

It was a joke, but he took it seriously! He froze for a moment, but then a grin spread across his face.

Tangina.

Nakakahiya.

Hindi ko na 'yon mababawi dahil inaasar niya na ako.

Nasaan na ang sinabi mong bagay sa 'yo ang nonchalant, Emcy?! Halos kabaliktaran lahat ng gusto mo sa lalaki ang lalaking nasa harapan mo!

I rolled my eyes.

"Ang pikon naman," he teased.

"Pikon your face." I finished my drink and set it down on the table. "Uuwi na ako."

He nodded. That was my cue to gather my things. I was packing up when I felt his gaze. His lips were pursed.

"What? Gusto mo ng kiss?" Tumawa ako.

"Why? Will you give me one?"

I stood up, still laughing. He stood up too. When our eyes met again, I gave him a challenging look. My heart pounded when he returned the same look.
