Just the two of us

Oh, you make me go crazy over you-

I paused, coughing abruptly.
"Sorry," I cleared my throat, gently rapping against my chest. "One more time."
The producer nodded, hitting the record button.
"Start," he ushered into the mic on the other side of the glass wall

Oh, you-

"Water break," said Jay, taking over. "Get out of there and drink water."
"I'm fine really," I said, trying to get this done with as soon as I could.
"Please? Do it for me, if not for yourself," he pleaded, sensing that there was something wrong from the start. Begrudgingly, I stepped out of the studio, grabbing a glass.

"Really I'm fine-" I was cut off by a cough again, a bad one. I cleared my throat.
"Sorry, do any of you have warm water?"

"Here-"
"Sure-"

I turned around, and saw Sunghoon standing there with a glass of warm water, while on the other hand I had Jay offering me his bottle.
"Oh er... thanks," I said, awkwardly. I took the bottle from Jay, silently apologising to Sunghoon with my eyes. Sunghoon did a small scoff before chugging down the glass himself, frowning at me. I chuckled, before drinking the warm water I oh so desperately needed.

"Ah... that's better," I grinned. "Thanks, Jay!"
I placed the bottle back down, turning to Sunghoon who was awkwardly chugging down the glass he offered me.

"Feeling better?" he said, attempting to make the atmosphere comfortable again. But we wasn't exactly looking at me. More like... at Jay.

"Yeah, yeah. I think I'll go back in now."
"No, you won't, Noona" said Jungwon, stepping in. "You're sick. Rest. I'll go. My cold isn't too bad."

I chuckled awkwardly at the three of them staring me down, either thinking the same thing or something else.
"Ah... Should I?"
"You should," said Jay and Sunghoon in unison

Another glance shot at Jay. I sighed.
"Fine. You, come with me," I said, dragging Sunghoon out the room. Jungwon decided to fill in and finish his part of the recording.

"Ahem," I cleared my throat, raising an eyebrow at him.
"What?" he looked back at me. Well, not exactly.

"Avoiding eye contact because you know I saw you?"
"Maybe," he shrugged. "Why?"

"Do you really have to be so hard on him? Like, seriously, you've known Jay the longest among all of the others, is it really right to be cold with him over a damned glass of water?"
"Yeah," he shrugged. "Not just that."

I sighed.
"The dare, then. Wait..."
Suddenly, my serious expression turned into a smirk.
"Are you... jealous?"
"I- What- No-"

"You're so jealous," I teased, nudging him. "Scared that your best friend's gonna steal your girl?"
"No?!" he shoved me. "I'm not."

"Oh very well then... I'm gonna go back, you can enjoy being jealous," I said, turning on my heels and walking back with a victorious smile on my face.
"I'm not. Jealous!" he darted behind me, but calmed down when we reunited with the rest.

"What's all the commotion about?" Heeseung asked, walking in with a cup of coffee.

"Oh, hey," Jay smiled. "You're here. Have the others woken up yet?"
"Sunoo's whining again," he chuckled fondly. "Wouldn't disagree though. 4 am is crazy."

"Morning," I sauntered up to Heeseung, eyeing his coffee. "Going in right now?"
Heeseung noticed my expression, sneaking the coffee into his other hand.
"After Jungwon, yes," he smiled. "You seem cheerful for someone forcibly woken up at 4."

I shrugged.
"I suppose I am, then," I grinned. "Thanks, by the way."
I yanked the coffee out of his grip, taking one huge sip.
"You little..." he huffed.
"Thanks for finishing the work I don't need you to do," he snatched the cup back.

"What can I say except your wel- Sorry," I coughed. "My voice has been cracking all day."
"All week," mumbled Sunghoon behind me. "Your voice has been in a bad condition for at least a week now, Yeona."

Heeseung's expression toughened.
"I mean, I did hear it crack occasionally but it's this bad?"
"I'm fine, really," I chuckled awkwardly.

"Says the one who almost died in there," Jungwon was back. "Even Jay hyung agrees. He gave her warm water and she basically chugged it down."
"You're sick too," I pointed out.
"My voice isn't affected," said Jungwon, sniffling. "I only have a cold."
"But-"

Despite my arguments, everyone agreed on the fact that I should rest. Sunghoon accompanied me back to the car, where I decided to take a quick nap.

"You sure you don't want to go home?" he asked, taking the seat beside mine.
"Yeah, jelly," I said, huffing as I made myself comfortable. "You can go back."

Before I knew it, an immense amount of fatigue seized my senses, and I fell asleep shortly after I heard Sunghoon closing the car door with a quiet but effective slam.
