It's been about 30 minutes since mom and dad dropped me off at the academy. The lady greeted everyone at the gate and had people guide us to this spacious room called the conference room. The room quickly filled up with people and the lady was now in the room and started to speak.
The lady whose name I learned is Ms. Shirley explained to us that until we are paired with a cg after taking a test, we are roommates with other littles. The roommate will be in the same age range as each other to make it easier and not have a bigger age with a noticeably younger age.
After the talk from Ms. Shirley, we were put into age groups. Ages 0-4 together, 5-7 together, and went on with littles who were a bit older. I was in group 0-4.
My building for the age range I'm in is the building across from the main building where the conference room is. The name of my building says, "Tiny Ones". When first walking in there are classrooms everywhere on the bottom floor, along with play areas, the cafeteria, and the designated caregivers in our building to help us and make sure we were all okay.
Upon entering the building Lily, one of the caregivers in our building split us up into more groups. My group 0-2 was with her. And the other group, 3-4, was Charlie. Lily showed us where her room was, which was right next to the stairs near playroom 1, so if we ever had a problem or something happened, we knew where to find her. Following that Lily took us upstairs and read names off the paper she had and began putting people in their rooms. I was one of the few people she called last because my last name was Sterling. I was roommates with Amanda, Gwen, and Jess.
Amanda was the first to introduce herself. I like her because she seems bubbly. We also have the same little age of 2. Gwen was quieter and more reserved to herself, but she seems nice. Jess made it clear that she did not want any friends until she found a caregiver first and since we go into our caregiver rooms after we are paired together it makes no sense to get attached to each other. It came out a bit harsh, but I respect her wishes.
This first day to get settled in took the whole day almost so by the time we all finished putting our things in our dressers it was time for dinner. Me and Amanda were practically attached at the hip even with knowing each other for such little time. We sat together to eat dinner in the cafeteria. And then after we ran back up to our room and colored pictures together until we were sleepy.
