Burning~

Chapter 1~

Panting was all you could do-shit- I can't believe I was already late for my first day of work at a new job. After finally getting your license as a certified doctor, you thought you'd try your luck at the prestigious hero academy, UA. I honestly thought I had no chance of getting a call back, but guess fate had other plans, in just three days you went from having a quite life in the outskirts of Japan, to living in one of its biggest cities, Musutafu.

With haggard breaths and a tired posture you had finally reached those famously humongous blue door that belonged to UA Academy. After catching a breath you started marching towards the inside of the academy. The school year had yet to start, so it was peacefully quiet. You were supposed to be meeting with the principal to discuss your work arrangements and what you'd have to do since UA already had a nurse . After a little hard work you were able to finally find the room that belonged to none other than the principal.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

"Come in!" the principal exclaimed in a cheery voice, and following his commands you stepped in, trying to hide your nervousness with a confident facade.

"Oh hello there Ms. L/N, I've expecting you it is so nice to meet you in person" the principal says as he walks your way, or should I say as he waddles your way. I can't lie I searched how the principal looked like beforehand, but still I'm still shocked at his stature and formal demeaner.

" Hello Principal Nezu, I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity" you reply as you begin to shake his...paw?

"Oh no need you'll be benefiting the school with your knowledge I'm sure, let's go sit down so we can start talking about how you'll work here." 

You quickly sat, you couldn't help but get a little nervous and flustered at his formal behavior, maybe because this was your first job outside of a hospital, but you were surprised at how different you got treated. 

" As you may know, UA already has a nurse, Recovery Lady, however, as time passes and takes its course, her power continues to diminish, at least according to her. You see, Recovery Lady was worried she wouldn't be able to do a good job on the upcoming school year alone, and with this worry she came to me hoping I'd find someone to help her with all the healing, and so this is why you're here. For the time being, your job here at UA will be to help Recovery Lady with all the healing she is uncapable of managing, as well as some paperwork that comes with the job. You'll obtain the same benefits that our teachers receive, of course. Well, that's all I got, do you have any concerns?"

"No sir!" you bit your lower lip to stop a smile from showing on your face, this is real, it's actually happening, I'm actually going to work at UA.

The principal chuckled, which brought you out of your thoughts.

"Well that's all I had to say, your actual first day will be in a week once all the students come in."

"Again thank you so much for this opportunity Principal, I'll give it all that I got!"

The principal laughed at your visible excitement.

"I'm happy to hear that L/N, glad to have you in the staff, see you next week"

And with that you offer a quick bow, and leave the office.

You were internally squealing. It really was a dream come true.

"This definitely deserves some sake" you whisper to yourself, with a happy grin whilst contemplating on what could possibly pair up with said drink, maybe soba? or no maybe sushi would be better since I was in Musutafu. 

Then suddenly as you rounded the corner of the hallway, your body met something hard, a wall? couldn't be.

"Shit" you let out a pained groan after landing on your butt.

Suddenly a voice brought you out of my trance.

" Apologizes, are you alright Ms?" The mysterious voice asked with a bit of a cold tone while offering his hand for you to grab. 

Thump. Thump. Your heart starts beating at his voice, so cold yet so hot.  And in an instant you looked up. 

Unbeknownst to you, your breath was held after staring into his eyes, which held the color of an endless abyss that you couldn't help but get swallowed by.
